Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitas lulusan SMK yang belum sesuai dengan kriteria yang dibutuhkan industri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat gambaran pencapaian kompetensi siswa SMK dalam praktik bekerja dengan mesin bubut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif. Sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa Teknik Pemesinan di SMK Negeri 2 Bandung sebanyak 39 orang dari 132 orang ditentukan dengan random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kompetensi bekerja dengan mesin bubut siswa teknik pemesinan sebanyak 53% dinyatakan belum kompeten, 41% dinyatakan kompeten dengan kategori C, 6% dinyatakan kompeten dengan kategori B, dan tidak ada yang mencapai kompeten dengan kategori A. Sementara kompetensi siswa dalam praktik bekerja dengan mesin bubut dilihat dari pencapaian tiap komponen penilaian didapat pada komponen persiapan hanya sebesar 59%, komponen proses sebesar 82%, komponen hasil sebesar 72%, komponen sikap kerja sebesar 76%, dan komponen waktu kerja sebesar 21%. Siswa lulusan SMK hanya bisa dikatakan siap latih belum mencapai siap kerja, artinya lulusan tersebut perlu dilatih lagi untuk dapat masuk bekerja di industri.;--- The problem in this research is the quality of vocational school graduates who do not fit the criteria needed industry. The purpose of this study to look at the picture of the achievement of competence of vocational students in the practice of working with a lathe. This study uses descriptive method. The samples used were Machining Engineering students at SMK Negeri 2 Bandung as many as 39 people from 132 with random sampling. The results showed the competence to work with students lathe machining techniques as much as 53% declared not competent, 41% declared competent to category C, 6% declared competent to category B, and none reached the competent category A. While student competence in working practices with lathes seen from the achievement of each component obtained in the components of preparation amounted to only 59%, the component of process by 82%, the components of result by 72%, the components of work attitudes by 76%, and the components of working time by 21%. Students vocational school graduates can only be said to be ready to train has not reached ready to work, meaning that the graduates need to be retrained in order to go to work in industry.
