    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi akademik pada mahasiswa yang mengikuti UKM sepakbola UPI. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang mengikuti UKM sepakbola Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dengan sampel sebanyak 25 responden. pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Purposive, karena peneliti menggunakan data Indeks Prestasi di akhir semester maka sampel yang diambil yaitu angkatan 2012-2013. kecerdasan emosional diukur menggunakan skala kecerdasan emosional, sedangkan untuk mengukur prestasi akademik menggunakan data Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif mahasiswa. Kecerdasan emosional atlet UKM sepakbola UPI berada pada kategori “baik” dengan persentase 76,95%, sedangkan untuk IPK prestasi akademik rata-rata 3,27. Nilai correlation coefficeint yaitu sebesar 0,65, yang artinya terdapat hubungan yang positif dan sangat signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi akademik.;--- This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement in students who follow football UKM UPI. The population in this study are students who follow football UKM Education University of Indonesia with a sample of 25 respondents. sampling using purposive, because the researchers used data at the end of the semester GPA of the samples taken are forces from 2012 to 2013. emotional intelligence is measured using a scale of emotional intelligence, while for measuring academic achievement using the data GPA student. Emotional intelligence UPI soccer athlete UKM that are in the category of "good" with a percentage of 76.95%, while for the achievement GPA average of 3.27. Coefficeint correlation value is equal to 0.65, which means that there are positive and highly significant between emotional intelligence and academic achievement.
