Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi beberapa permasalahan yang terjadi pada kelas VIII-G SMP Negeri 26 Bandung. Hal ini didasarkan pada hasil observasi awal, dapat dilihat kurangnya partisipasi peserta didik dalam mengemukakan pendapat, banyak peserta didik yang kurang berani untuk mengacungkan tangan memberikan pendapatnya. Untuk memperbaiki hal tersebut dilakukan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning tipe Example Non-examples untuk meningkatkan partisipasi peserta didik dalam mengemukakan pendapat pada pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang diadaptasi dari model Kemmis dan MC Taggart. Oleh karena itu penelitian dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu pelaksanaan, perencanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Sementara teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan, yaitu observasi, catatan lapangan, angket, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, penerapan model problem based learning tipe example non-example telah berhasil meningkatkan partisipasi peserta didik dalam mengemukakan pendapat pada pembelajaran IPS Kelas VIII G SMPN 26 Bandung. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil pelaksanaan penelitian yang dilakukan selama tiga siklus yang menunjukkan peningkatan yang cukup signifikan pada setiap siklusnya. ;---This research was derived from the problems found in eight grade of SMPN 26 Bandung. The early observation showed that students poorly participated in giving opinions. Most of them were not confident in arguing their opinions. Thus this study was conducted in order to improve the students’ participation through the implementation of problem based learning with example non example type in social science learning. This study was an action research adapted from Kemmis and Mc Taggart model. This study was divided into three phases that are action, designing, observation and reflection. The techniques of collection data are observation,note taking, questionnaire, interview and documentation study. According to the result, the implementation of problem based learning with example non example type in social science learning can to improvement towards students’ participation in giving their opinion of students of social studies. It can be seen from the result of research action within three cyces that showed significance improvement in each cycle.
