Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dengan adanya fakta guru yang mengajar bidang studi bukan pada vaksnya, termasuk pengajaran agama. Ada pula kasus pendidikan yang terangkat dan menjadi perbincangan di masyarakat telah menjatuhkan nama guru sebagai tenaga profesi, baik masalah profesionalisme guru, sertifikasi, maupun tindakan guru yang tidak sesuai dengan etika. Lebih parahnya lagi ketika tindakan itu dilakukan oleh seorang guru Pendidikan Agama Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Profil Guru PAI pada SMP Negeri Unggulan di Kota Bandung periode 2015/2016 dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu dengan mereduksi data, mendisplay data kemudian disimpulkan. Pada pengolahan data hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa kualifikasi akademik guru PAI SMP Negeri Unggulan di Kota Bandung telah memenuhi standar yang ditetapkan oleh Peraturan Pemerintah maupun Peraturan Menteri Agama yakni guru Pendidikan Agama memiliki kualifikasi akademik Strata 1 (S1) atau Diploma IV (D-IV) dari program studi pendidikan agama dan/atau program studi agama. Adapun kinerja guru PAI mencakup perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran dan hubungan sosial guru PAI pada SMP Negeri Unggulan di Kota Bandung terlaksana dengan baik, guru PAI memiliki kemampuan-kemampuan yang disyaratkan oleh APKG. Kepribadian guru PAI pada SMP Negeri Unggulan di Kota Bandung sesuai dengan apa yang disyaratkan oleh Undang-undang yakni memiliki kompetensi kepribadian yang baik. Komptensi kepribadian guru PAI mencakup pribadi yang disiplin, pribadi yang mantap, stabil, dewasa, arif dan berwibawa, memiliki akhlak mulia sehingga menjadi teladan bagi siswa dan masyarakat sekitarnya di sekolah. ;---The research was prompted by the fact that there are teachers who teach the fields which are not their expertise, including religion. There are some cases related to education that have been the topic of discussion in the society and tainted the image of teacher as a professional workforce, such as the problems with teacher professionalism, teacher certification, or teachers’ unethical actions. What is worse is when the ones involved in the infamous cases are Islamic education teachers. The research aims to find the profile of Islamic education teachers of excellent state junior high schools in Bandung City for the period of 2015/2016 through a qualitative approach and descriptive method. Data were collected through interview, observation, and document analysis. The data were then reduced, displayed, and finally concluded. The findings show that the academic qualification of Islamic education teachers of the excellent junior high schools in Bandung City has fulfilled the standards stipulated in the regulations of the Government and Minister of Religious Affairs, namely holding a bachelor’s degree or Diploma IV in the study program of religious education or religion. The performance of Islamic education teachers of the excellent junior high schools in Bandung City in terms of instructional planning, implementation, and social relationships is categorized as good; in other words, the Islamic education teachers possess the abilities required by the Teacher Capability Assessment Tool. The personality of the Islamic teachers in the excellent junior high schools in Bandung city is also in accordance with the requirements stipulated in the Law; in other words, they have good personal competency. Islamic teachers’ personal competency includes such traits as self-discipline, steady personality, stability, maturity, wisdom and authoritativeness, and noble morals, so that they can be good examples for their students and the community surrounding the school.
