Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang dihadapi anak tunagrahita sedang di sekolah, dalam hal merawat diri khususnya menyikat gigi dan mencuci tangan. Disamping itu belum adanya program secara tertulis yang dibuat oleh guru sehingga proses pembelajaran keterampilan merawat diri tidak terstruktur secara sistemasis yang pada akhirnya tujuan pembelajaran tidak tercapai. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan program pembelajaran keterampilan merawat diri bagi anak tunagrahita sedang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Research and Development melalui tiga tahap yaitu studi pendahuluan, perencanaan dan perumusan program, serta uji keterlaksanaan program. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Menggunakan teknik analisis data melalui reduksi data, display data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian ditemukan kondisi factual anak yang belum memiliki pemahaman tentang pentingnya menyikat gigi dan mencuci tangan, belum mampu menyikat gigi dan mencuci tangan dengan teknik dan langkah-langkah yang benar meskipun sudah diberi instruksi secara verbal, guru belum mengajarkan menyikat gigi dan mencuci tangan dengan teknik dan langkah-langkah yang benar, dan belum terampilnya guru dalam merumuskan program pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak. Selanjutnya dirumusan program pembelajaran keterampilan merawat diri yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan anak. Adapun dalam keterlaksanaan program diperoleh hasil bahwa adanya perubahan pada proses pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan oleh guru, proses pelaksanan pembelajaran dilakukan secara sistematis, terarah dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak, sehingga terjadi peningkatan pada keterampilan merawat diri anak tunagrahita sedang.;---This research is conducted by the problems faced by moderate intellectual disability children at school in terms of self-care, especially brushing teeth and washing hands. Besides, the absence of a written program created by the teacher so that the learning process of self-care skill not systematically structured and ultimately learning objectives are not achieved. Based on these problems, the objective of this study to formulation of self-care skills learning program to moderate intellectual disability children. This research used three stages Research and Development: a preliminary study, planning and programming, as well as adherence to the test program. The technique of collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation study. Using the techniques of data analysis through data reduction, data display, conclusion and verification of data. The result of the research found the factual condition of child who does not have an understanding of the importance of brushing teeth and washing hands, capable of brushing and hand washing techniques and properly steps though already given instructions verbally, teachers do not teach tooth brushing and hand washing techniques in properlysteps, and not skilled teachers in formulating learning program that appropriate with the needs of children. Furthermore, the formulation of self-care skills learning program was found and adapted to the needs of children. Program adherence showed that the changes in the learning process carried out by teachers, systematic and implementing the learning in accordance with the needs of children, resulting in increased self-care skills in children with moderate intellectual disability being.
