Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran Geografi, kecerdasan spasial merupakan komponen yang penting karena Geografi merupakan disiplin ilmu yang mempelajari tentang ruang (space). Kondisi lingkungan sekolah memiliki peranan penting dalam keberhasilan pembelajaran Geografi karena lingkungan sekolah memiliki pengaruh terhadap peningkatan kecerdasan spasial peserta didik. Penelitian ini didasari oleh dua buah teori, yakni fluid intelligence and crystallized intelligence theory dan multiple intelligence theory. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei dan dilakukan di SMA negeri di Kota Bandung dan SMA negeri Kabupaten Bandung dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 264 responden yang tersebar di Sembilan sekolah. Hubungan antara lingkungan sekolah dan kecerdasan spasial dapat dijelaskan dengan analisis jalur yang melibatkan dua variabel lain, yakni affordance (persepsi terhadap lingkungan) dan geo-literacy (kemelekan Geografi). Analisis jalur dilakukan oleh peneliti dengan menggunakan software SPSS 23 dan AMOS 21. Analisis tersebut menghasilkan tiga model persamaan yaitu (1) lingkungan sekolah tidak signifikan berpengaruh terhadap affordance; (2) lingkungan sekolah dan affordance secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap geo-literacy; (3) affordance dan geo-literacy secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap kecerdasan spasial. Penelitian ini memiliki keterbatasan dalam hal pengembangan instrumen kecerdasan spasial untuk pembelajaran geografi. Karena itu, peneliti merekomendasikan agar pengembangan instrumen kecerdasan spasial dilakukan secara lebih intensif agar menghasilkan instrumen yang lebih valid dan baku.;--- In Geography learning, spatial intelligence is an important component for Geography as a discipline that studies about the space. School environment have an important role in Geography learning, because school environments affect student’s spatial intelligence. This study is a survey research to do in high school in Bandung City and Bandung Regency, with a total sample of 264 respondents spread across nine schools. The relationship between the school environment and the spatial intelligence can be explained by path analysis with two others variable that is affordance (perception of the environment) and geo-literacy (literacy of Geography). Path analysis conducted by researchers using the software SPSS 23 and AMOS 21. This analysis resulted in three models of the equation, those are (1) school environment don’t significantly effect to affordance; (2) school environment and affordance significantly effect to geo-literacy; (3) affordance and geo-literacy significantly effect to the spatial. This research has a limitation in developing spatial intelligence instrument for geography learning. Then, researcher offer to develop spatial intelligence instrument more intensive in order to give valid and standard instrument.
