Abstract

Praktik Hubungan Masyarakat (Humas) memainkan peran kunci dalam mengembangkan citra dan kemajuan organisasi, termasuk organisasi nirlaba yang mulai menempatkan humas sebagai bagian penting dari organisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana peran humas pada organisasi nirlaba di Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat (LSM) Bulan Sabit Merah Indonesia dalam menjalankan aspek akuntabilitas, komunikasi, penjangkauan masyarakat, penggalangan dana dan perencanaan strategis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan strategi studi kasus. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan untuk penelitian adalah wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, studi dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa humas LSM Bulan Sabit Merah Indonesia telah menjalankan seluruh peran dengan baik dan berperan dominan dalam aspek akuntabilitas, komunikasi, penjangkauan masyarakat dan penggalangan dana, meskipun masih terdapat kekurangan yang harus diperbaiki humas dalam menjalankan perannya. Namun dalam aspek perencanaan strategis humas tidak berperan dominan, karena hanya berperan sebagai pendukung pimpinan organisasi dalam proses perencanaan strategis organisasi. Hasil ini dipengaruhi oleh posisi Humas dalam struktur organisasi yang tidak berada di bawah pimpinan, sehingga tidak memiliki akes kmunikasi scara langsung dan minim terlibat dalam rapat pembuatan keputusan bersama pimpinan organisasi.;--- The practice of public relations (PR) played a key role in developing the imagery and the progress of the organization, including non-profit organizations that began to put public relations as an important part of the organization. This research aims to look at how the role of public relations in nonprofit organizations in the Non-govermental Organization (NGO) Indonesian Red Crescent in carrying out this aspect of accountability, communications, community outreach, fundraising and strategic planning. This research used the qualitative approach with strategy case studies. The data collection methods used for research is in-depth interviews, participant observation, documentation, and the study of literature. The research results showed that public relations in NGO Indonesian Red Crescent has run well role throughout and played the dominant in the aspect of accountability, communication, community outreach and fundraising, although there are still deficiencies that must be corrected in the running of public relations role. But in the aspect of strategic planning of public relations is not the dominant role, as it only serves as a supporter of the leadership of the organization in the strategic planning process of the organization. This result was influenced by the position of public relations in the organizational structure that are not under top management, so it does not have direct access to communications and barely involved in decision making meetings with top management of the organization.
