Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang peran guru PKn dalam mengembangkan karakter demokratis siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Singaparna dengan fokus kajian meliputi: (1. Bagaimana karakter demokratis siswa dalam pembelajaran PKn?, (2. Bagaimana langkah-langkah guru PKn dalam mengembangkan karakter demokratis siswa dalam pembelajaran PKn?, (3. Bagaimana peran guru PKn dalam pembelajaran untuk mengembangkan karakter demokratis siswa?, (4. Bagaimana kendala guru PKn dalam mengembangkan karakter demokratis siswa?, (5. Bagaimana upaya mengatasi kendala guru PKn dalam mengembangkan karakter demokratis siswa?. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik penelitian yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisa dilakukan melalui tiga tahap, yakni reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Lokasi penelitian terletak di SMA Negeri 1 Singaparna dengan subjek penelitian kepala sekolah, guru PKn dan siswa kelas 3. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa (1. Karakter demokratis siswa dalam pembelajaran PKn masih sangat kurang, terbukti dari semua siswa di kelas hanya beberapa siswa yang berani untuk bertanya atau mengungkapkan pendapatnya, (2. Langkah Guru Pkn dalam mengembangkan karakter demokratis siswa adalah dengan melatih siswa untuk belajar mengungkapkan pendapat ketika pembelajaran PKn melalui metode diskusi, (3. Guru dituntut untuk menggunakan model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakter demokratis, misalnya menggunakan model pembelajaran role playing yang disesuaikan dengan materi pembelajaran, (4. Kendala yang sering dihadapi guru PKn dalam mengembangkan karakter demokratis siswa adalah ketika penyampaian materi di dalam kelas atau dalam diskusi, beberapa siswa suka terlalu gaduh sehingga terkadang mengganggu pelajaran berlangsung, (5. Upaya mengatasi kendala Guru PKn dalam mengembangkan karakter demokratis siswa. Berangkat dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, peneliti merekomendasikan beberapa hal, meliputi; (1. untuk mengembangkan karakter demokratis dan antusias siswa dalam pembelajaran PKn adalah dengan cara menerapkan model/pendekatan yang sesuai dengan materi dan keinginan siswa, (2. Menerapkan pendidikan karakter demokratis pada proses pembelajaran melalui pengembangan budaya di sekolah, (3. Menyelenggarakan kegiatan ekstrakulikuler berbasis pendidikan karakter, (4. Perlu adanya pemilihan metode dan model pembelajaran yang dipakai ketika penyampaian materi supaya siswa bisa lebih memahami dan mengerti, (5. Diharapkan semua siswa bisa belajar tentang karakter demokratis supaya pemahaman berpikir siswa bisa lebih berkembang dan tidak hanya diam saja di dalam kelas. ; This study discusses the role of civics teachers in developing the democratic character of the students in SMA Negeri 1 Singaparna with the focus of the study include: (1. How democratic character of students in civics ?, (2. What steps Civics teachers in developing the democratic character of students in learning Civics ?, (3. How Civics teacher's role in learning to develop students 'democratic character ?, (4. How Civics teacher constraints in developing the democratic character of the students ?, (5. How Civics teacher efforts to overcome obstacles in developing the democratic character of the students ?, (5. How Civics teacher efforts to overcome obstacles in developing the democratic character of the students' research ?. this uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, techniques used in this study were interviews, observation and documentation. Technical analysis is done in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. the research location is situated in SMA Negeri 1 Singaparna with research subjects headmaster , Civics teachers and students in grade 3. The results showed that (1. Democratic character of students in civics is still lacking, as evidenced by all the students in class only a few students who dared to ask questions or express his opinion, (2. Civic Education Teacher step in developing the democratic character of the student is to train students to learn to express an opinion when learning civics through discussion method, (3. teachers are required to use the learning model in accordance with the democratic character, for example using role playing learning model tailored to the learning materials, (4. Obstacles often faced Civics teachers in developing the democratic character of the students is when the delivery of material in classes or in discussion, some students like too rowdy, so sometimes disturbing lessons, (5. Measures to overcome obstacles Citizenship teachers in developing the democratic character of students. Based on the results of studies conducted, researchers recommend a few things, include: (1. to develop character democratic and enthusiastic students in learning civics is to apply the model / approach that is appropriate to the material and desires of students, (2. Applying democratic character education in the learning process through the development of culture in schools, (3. Organize extracurricular activities based character education, (4. Keep the selection of methods and learning model that is used when delivering the materials so that students can better grasp and understand, (5. Expected all students can learn about the democratic character of that understanding can develop students' thinking and not just stay quiet in the classroom.
