Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas V SD. Fokus penelitian yaitu strategi berpikir siswa, bentuk representasi berpikir siswa, kesulitan yang dialami siswa, dan aspek metakognisi saat menyelesaikan masalah matematik. Subyek penelitian adalah 18 siswa kelas V salah satu SD swasta di Kota Bandung. Pendekatan yang digunakan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Instrumen berupa lembar studi dokumen, observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian: (1) strategi pemecahan masalah siswa yaitu bekerja mundur, act it out, membuat tabel, membuat gambar, coba-coba, dan membuat kalimat terbuka; (2) bentuk representasi yang dibuat siswa, yaitu representasi visual (tabel dan gambar), ekspresi matematika, dan kata-kata atau teks tertulis; (3) 100% siswa mengalami kesulitan untuk memunculkan alternatif jawaban lain untuk soal yang sama; (4) 78% siswa telah mampu menggunakan strategi-strategi metakognisinya dalam memecahkan masalah yang sedang dihadapinya, 50% siswa telah memahami tingkat kesulitan dari setiap soal pemecahan masalah yang diberikan, 100% siswa telah mengetahui tentang kekuatan dan kelemahan dirinya dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematik. The purpose of this research is to get a view of mathematical problem-solving skills fifth grade elementary school students. The focus of research is the students 'thinking strategies, forms of representation of students' thinking, difficulties experienced by students, and aspects of metacognition when finishing mathematical problems. Subjects were 18 fifth grade students in a private primary school in Bandung. The approach used qualitative case study type. Instruments in the form of sheets of document study, observation and interviews. The results: (1) students' problem-solving strategies that work backwards, act it out, making a table, make a picture, trial and error and make an open sentence, (2) forms of representation that the students, that is visual representation (tables and figures) , mathematical expressions, and words or written text, (3) 100% of students have difficulties to bring up another alternative answers to the same question, (4) 78% of students have been able to use their metacognition strategies in solving the problem at hand, 50% of students have to understand the level of difficulty of each problem-solving a given problem, 100% of students have learned about the strengths and weaknesses of themselves in solving math problems.
