Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan informasi yang dialami oleh pemustaka dan koleksi majalah dinding perpustakaan sebagai sumber pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Kartika XIX.1 Bandung. Melalui studi pendahuluan diketahui bahwa koleksi majalah dinding perpustakaan menjadi salah satu koleksi yang kurang dimanfaatkan oleh para siswa di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pemanfaatan koleksi majalah dinding perpustakaan dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi siswa, mengetahui hubungan antara intensitas, aktivitas, dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemanfaatan majalah dinding perpustakaan dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Kartika XIX.1 Bandung, jumlah sampel sebanyak 69 orang yang ditentukan dengan menggunakan rumus Solvin dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Sampling Insidental. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif korelasional pendekatan kuantitatif dan teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara penyebaran angket. Pengolahan data menggunakan bantuan Microsoft Office Excel dan IBM SPSS Statistics 16. Data diolah dengan menggunakan rumus uji korelasi Rank Spearman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa: 1) terdapat hubungan antara pemanfaatan majalah dinding perpustakaan dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi siswa dengan kategori kuat, 2) terdapat hubungan antara intensitas pemanfaatan majalah dinding perpustakaan dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi siswa dengan kategori kuat, 3) terdapat hubungan antara aktivitas pemanfaatan majalah dinding perpustakaan dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi siswa dengan kategori sedang, 4) terdapat hubungan antara faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemanfaatan majalah dinding perpustakaan dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi siswa dengan kategori kuat.;--- This research was motivated by library user’s about information needs and the wall magazine library as a source to meeting the information needs. This research was conducted at SMP Kartika XIX.1 Bandung library. Through preliminary studies it is know that the wall magazine library collection be the one of library collection was less utilized by the student at school. The objective in this research was to know the relationship between utilization of the wall magazine library with student information needs, for know relationship between the intensity, activity, and factors effect of the utilization of the wall magazine library collection with student information needs. The population in this study were SMP Kartika XIX.1 Bandung library users, with total sample 69 people which be determined by using Solvin formula and sampling carried out by using incidental sampling. The research method used is a correlational descriptive research method and data collection technique by using spreading questionnaire. Data processing used Microsoft Office Excel and IBM SPSS Statistics 16. The data is processed by using correlation experimental formula named Rank Spearman. Based on the result, we concluded that: 1) there is relationship between utilization of the wall magazine library with student information needs with strong category; 2) there is relationship between the intensity of the utilization of the wall magazine library collection with student information needs with strong category; 3) there is relationship between the activity of the utilization of the wall magazine library collection with student information needs with medium category; 4) there is relationship between the factors effect of the utilization of the wall magazine library collection with student information needs with strong category.
