Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika materi sifat-sifat bangun ruang. Hal ini disebabkan oleh cara atau metode yang diterapkan guru masih konvensional. Salah satu model yang dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa adalah model Realistic Mathematic Education (RME). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika pada materi jaring-jaring bangun ruang siswa kelas V SD S Kota Bandung yang meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan hasil belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) model spiral Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD S yang berjumlah 25 orang. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah pedoman observasi untuk menjaring data yang bersifat kualitatif dan tes yang bersifat kuantitatif. Pengolahan data kualitatif dilakukan dengan cara reduksi data, klasifikasi data, display data dan interpretasi data. Sedangkan pengolahan data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan cara menghitung rata-rata nilai siswa dan menghitung persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan model Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) menunjukkan peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya. Nilai rata-rata siswa pada pra siklus adalah 51,2 dengan ketuntasan sebesar 12,90%. Pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 65,72 Dengan ketuntasan sebesar 44% . Pada siklus II nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 80,6 dengan ketuntasan sebesar 88%, dan pada siklus III nilai rata-rata siswa menjadi 87,8 Dengan ketuntasan 96%. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas V SD S Kota Bandung materi jaring-jaring bangun ruang.;---The research is motivated by the low of activity and learning outcomes of the students in mathematics subjects related to characteristics of geometry. This condition is affected by the teaching methods employed by the teachers, which are still conventional. One of the models which can enhance the activity and learning outcomes is Realistic Mathematic Education (RME). The study is aimed at describing the application of the Realistic Mathematic Education to increase students’ learning outcomes in material related to net geometry of the fifth grade students of SD S Bandung. The research is conducted through planning, executing, and students’ learning outcomes. The research methodology used in the present research is Classroom Action Research by the spiral model proposed by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The subjects of the analysis are 25 of the fifth grade students in SD S. Data collection tool used in the present paper is guidelines for observation to capture the qualitative data and quantitative test. The qualitative data processing is conducted by data reduction, data classification, data display and data interpretation. As for the quantitative data processing, it is conducted by determining the average score and learning mastery percentage of the students. Based on the analysis, which is conducted by applying the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME), it is found that there is improvement in every cycle. The average score of the students in the pre-cycle is 51.2, with the level of learning mastery of 12.90%. In the first cycle, the average score of the students increases to 65.72%, with the level of learning mastery of the 44%. On the second cycle, it is found that the average score of the students increases to 80,6%, with the level of learning mastery of 88%; and in the third cycle, the average score of the students is 87,8%, with the level of learning mastery of 96%. Based on the data, it can be concluded that the application of Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) can improve the learning outcomes of the fifth grade students in SD S Bandung in net geometry material.
