Abstract

Motivasi belajar merupakan salah satu aspek yang mempengaruhi ketercapaian tujuan pada proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai hubungan latar belakang sosial ekonomi dan motivasi belajar warga belajar pada program kesetaraan. PKBM Kenanga merupakan satuan pendidikan nonformal di Kabupaten Bandung yang menyelenggarakan program kesetaraan Paket B setara SMP/MTs dan Paket C setara SMA/MA. Motivasi belajar yang dimiliki oleh warga belajar yang satu dan yang lain berbeda-beda, sehingga peneliti berasumsi bahwa terdapat hubungan antara latar belakang sosial ekonomi dan motivasi belajar warga belajar program kesetaraan di PKBM Kenanga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan berupa angket, penelitian ini menggunakan total sampling, dimana jumlah sampel sama dengan jumlah populasi yaitu 106 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang kuat dan signifikan antara latar belakang sosial ekonomi dan motivasi belajar. Latar belakang sosial ekonomi dilihat berdasarkan usia, pendidikan, pekerjaan, partisipasi di masyarakat, dan kepemilikan kekayaan. Motivasi belajar dilihat berdasarkan motivasi intrinsik yang meliputi aspek fisik, psikologis, tujuan belajar, harapan, minat belajar dan kesiapan belajar, serta motivasi ekstrinsik yang meliputi strategi dan metode pembelajaran, materi pelajaran, sarana belajar, dan lingkungan belajar. Variabel yang paling berkontribusi terhadap motivasi belajar adalah kepemilikan kekayaan. Seseorang yang tingkat kepemilikan kekayaannya tinggi dengan mudah dapat memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya sehingga pendidikan dijadikan sebagai prioritas, sarana prasarana penunjang kebutuhan pendidikan pun dengan mudah dapat terpenuhi sehingga seseorang dapat termotivasi untuk belajar dengan baik. Dengan demikian, semakin tinggi latar belakang sosial ekonomi seseorang, semakin tinggi pula motivasi belajar yang dimilikinya.;---Learning motivation is one of the aspects that influence goal achievement of learning process. This research discuss about correlation of socio-economic background and learning motivation of student on equality program. PKBM Kenanga is nonformal education unit in Bandung Regency which provide equality program for Package B equivalent to SMP/MTs and Package C equivalent of SMA/MA. Learning motivation of each student is different, so the researchers assume that there is a correlation between student’s socio-economic background and learning motivation on equality program of PKBM Kenanga. The method used was descriptive method with quantitative approach. The instrument of the data collection was questionnaires, this study uses total sampling, where the number of samples equal to the number of population which is 106 people. The results showed that there is a strong positive and significant correlation between socio-economic background and learning motivation. Student’s socio-economic background seen by the age, education, profession, society participation, and property. Even learning motivation seen based on intrinsic motivation include physical, psychological, learning goal, expectations, learning interrest and readiness, also extrinsic motivation include learning strategy and methods, course materials, learning tools, and learning environment. The variables that most contributed to the learning motivation is the ownership of property. Someone who has high levels of property ownership can easily meet their needs hence that education becomes a priority, supporting learning tools needs can easily be met so that a person can be motivated to learn. Thus, the higher a person’s socio-economic background, the higher the learning motivation they have.
