Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh penggunaan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam penyuluhan yang menyebabkan petani menjadi lebih aktif dalam mengikuti kegiatan penyuluhan, berbeda dengan penyuluhan pada umumnya yang membuat petani malas mengikuti penyuluhan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) mendeskripsikan persepsi petani terhadap model PBL, (2) mendeskripsikan partisipasi petani dalam kegiatan penyuluhan yang menggunakan model PBL, (3) mendeskripsikan dampak yang dirasakan oleh petani setelah mengikuti penyuluhan dengan menerapkan model PBL. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Peneliti menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi dalam mengumpulkan data. Subjek dalam penelian ini yaitu Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan (PPL), Ketua Kelompok Tani, dan anggota kelompok tani. Simpulan dari penelitian ini (1) persepsi peserta terhadap model PBL bahwa model ini memberi kesempatan kepada petani untuk ikut berpartisipasi di dalam perencanaan sampai evaluasi. (2) partisipasi peserta semakin meningkat dalam kegiatan penyuluhan, walaupun dalam segi kedisiplinan waktu kehadiran masih kurang karena faktor pekerjaan sehari-hari. (3) PBL memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap aspek pengetahuan, keterampilan, sikap dan perilaku, serta produktivitas usahatani yang semakin pesat. ;---This research is motivated by the use of Problem Based Learning in counseling which causes farmers to become more active in participating the counseling activities, in contrast to the other counseling in general that makes farmers lazy to participatethe counseling.The purpose of this study are: (1) to describe the perception of farmers towards PBL models, (2) to describe the participation of farmers in counseling activities that use the PBL model, (3) to describe the impact felt by farmers after attending the counseling by applying the PBL model. A qualitative approach with descriptive method used in this study. Researchers used interview, observation and documentation in collecting data.The subjects in this research are Agricultural Extension Workers (PPL), Chairman of Farmers Group, and members of farmer groups.According to the data analysis, it could be concluded (1) the perceptions of the participants toward learning model which was applied in the activity were very good because this model gave chances to the farmers to participate in the planning until the evaluation. (2) the participation of the participants has increased in the counseling activity, although in terms of attendance time discipline is still lacking because of the daily work. (3) PBL provides a pretty good impact on aspects of knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors, as well as increased farm productivity is rapidly increasing.
