Abstract

Keprofesionalan seorang guru PAUD dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor, salah satunya kualitas belajar guru tersebut pada saat mengenyam pendidikan tinggi. Adapun kualitas belajar tersebut didasarkan pada bagaimana sikap mahasiswa tersebut terhadap profesi guru PAUD. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana sikap mahasiswa Program Studi PGPAUD FIP UPI terhadap profesi guru PAUD ditinjau berdasarkan status akademik, status ekonomi serta status organisasi yang harus dimiliki guru PAUD. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei. Populasi dalam penelitian ini merupakan seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi PGPAUD FIP UPI yang keseluruhannya berjumlah 230 orang mahasiswa, sedangkan sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 146 orang mahasiswa melalui teknik simple random sampling. Alat pengumpulan data penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan angket tertutup yang selanjutnya diolah dengan analis statistika deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap mahasiswa Program Studi PGPAUD terhadap status akademik profesi guru PAUD berada dalam kategori baik dengan nilai 82,84%, kemudian terhadap status ekonomi profesi guru PAUD berada dalam kategori baik dengan nilai 76,63%, serta terhadap status organisasi profesi guru PAUD berada dalam kategori baik yakni 76,58%. Secara keseluruhan, sikap mahasiswa Program Studi PGPAUD terhadap profesi guru PAUD adalah baik. Hal ini dapat dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman pribadi, kebudayaan, orang lain yang dianggap penting, media massa, institusi atau lembaga pendidikan serta beberapa faktor dan teori sikap lainnya. Rekomendasi penelitian ini bagi para mahasiswa diharapkan dapat menjaga sikap yang sudah dimiliki dan senantiasa mewujudkannya ke perilaku dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, bagi Program Studi PGPAUD diharapkan dapat memberikan layanan dan pengalaman terbaiknya, serta bagi pemerintah agar lebih memperhatikan lagi profesi guru PAUD dan sebagai bahan evaluasi terhadap kebijakan pendidikan bagi profesi guru. --- The professionalism of an early childhood education teacher is affected by many factors, one of which is the teacher learning qualitywhen they were in the University. The quality mentioned about is based on their attitude toward the profession of early childhood education teachers. Therefore, this research aims to find out how was the attitude of the students of theearly childhood teachers education study program in FIP UPI towards the profession of early childhood education teachers reviewed based on their academic status, financial status, and organization status. The method of this research was a survey. The population was all students of the Early Childhood Teacher Education Study Program of FIP UPI which is 230 students, while the sample was 146 students gathered through simple random sampling technique. The data were collected by using close-ended questionnaires and then eventually being analyzed by using descriptive statistic.The result showed that the attitude of the studentstoward academic status of the profession of early childhood education teachers are in good categories with 82,84% of value, toward the economic status of the profession of early childhood education teachers are in good categories with 76,63% of value, and toward the organization status of the profession of early childhood education teachers are in good categories with 76,58% of value. It is concluded that the attitudes of the students of Early Childhood TeacherEducation Study Program of FIP UPI towards the Profession of Early Childhood Education Teachers are averagely good. This can be influenced by personal experiences, cultures, family,mass media, institutional or educational institutions as well as some other attitude theory and factors. Recommendations of this study are (1) students are expected to be able maintaining their good attitude in order to be able to apply it in their daily life, (2) PGPAUD study program is expected to give their best services and experiences, (3) Government is expected to give more attention to the PGPAUD teacher as well as to consider this research as the evaluation in making a policy.
