Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum optimalnya mutu proses pembelajaran di SDN se-Kecamatan Cikoneng Kabupaten Ciamis, salah satunya dilihat dari perolehan rata-rata nilai terendah hasil ujian nasional tahun pelajaran 2013-2014 yang masih di bawah nilai 6,00. Supervisi Akademik Kepala Sekolah dan Kemampuan Profesional Guru disebutkan sebagai salah satu faktor yang berpengaruh. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang didukung dengan studi dokumentasi serta angket sebagai alat pengumpul data utama dengan sampel penelitian kepala sekolah dan guru. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan statistik parametik. Berdasarkan analisis data, ditemukan bahwa supervisi akademik kepala sekolah memberikan pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kemampuan professional guru dengan kategori rendah, Kemampuan profesional guru memberikan pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap mutu proses pembelajaran dengan kategori rendah. Serta, supervisi akademik kepala sekolah memberikan pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap mutu proses pembelajaran melalui kemampuan profesional guru dengan kategori cukup kuat. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa supervisi akademik kepala sekolah memberikan pengaruh terhadap mutu proses pembelajaran melalui kemampuan profesional guru. Rekomendasi penelitian ini adalah 1) guru harus lebih memperbaiki kemampuan profesionalnya dalam mengajar terutama dalam aspek komunikasi dengan peserta didik, 2) kepala sekolah harus mampu menindaklanjuti hasil supervisi berupa pembinaan yang diberikan kepada guru yang disupervisinya sehingga diharapkan adanya perubahan perilaku positif. ;--- The background of this research is the poor process of learning process in formal primary school in Cikoneng Subdistrict, Ciamis. It is seen from the lowest mean of National Examination in 2013-2014 Academic Year, which was under 6.00. The headmaster academic supervision and teacher professional ability are considered as the influencing factors. The method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative approach, which is supported with document analysis and questionnaire as the main instruments and headmaster and teachers as the samples. The data analysis was done through parametric statistic. The findings show that headmaster academic supervision gives positive and significant influence towards teacher professional ability. The teacher professional ability also gives positive and significant influence towards the learning process in low category. Then, headmaster academic supervision gives positive and significant influence towards the quality of learning processes through teacher professional ability with adequate category. Based on those findings, it is concluded that headmaster academic supervision gives influence towards the quality of learning process through teacher professional ability. This research recommends: 1) the teacher should improve their professional ability in teaching, especially in communication aspect with the students; 2) the headmaster should follow up the supervision results by providing training/workshop in order to transform a more positive attitude.
