Abstract

Judul penelitian ini adalah “Pandangan Masyarakat Sunda Terhadap Orang Bangsa Asing (Kajian Mantra Asihan Diri Di Kabupaten Sukabumi). Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya pandangan masyarakat pengguna (orang Sunda) Mantra Asihan Diri (MAD) di kabupaten Sukabumi terhadap orang bangsa asing. Penuturan mantra asihan diri bertujuan untuk mempengaruhi sukma atau hati orang bangsa asing (seperti orang berkebangsaan Belanda, Cina, dan orang bangsa asing lainnya) yang disukai atau dihormati, sehingga mempunyai ikatan dengan penutur MAD. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan struktur, konteks penuturan, proses penciptaan, fungsi, dan makna MAD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis, metode tersebut merupakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian ini mengkaji MAD dari tiga kecamatan di kabupaten Sukabumi, dengan hasil, yang pertama yaitu teks MAD dibentuk oleh struktur yang memiliki karakter tertentu dan memunculkan efek atau daya magis dengan suasana hikmat yang menegaskan maksud dan tujuan dari penggunaan MAD terhadap orang bangsa asing. Kedua, penuturan MAD dilakukan secara monolog, dan adapun interaksi secara dialog antara penutur dan audiens pada saat pra penuturan dan pasca penuturan. Ketiga, proses penciptaan dalam keadaan terstruktur dan diwariskan secara vertikal melalui lisan. Keempat, Mantra asihan diri memiliki fungsi bagi masyarakat pemiliknya yaitu sebagai sistem proyeksi masyarakat, protes sosial masyarakat, dan alat pendidikan anak. Kelima, makna yang terkandung dalam MAD adalah sebagai permohonan akan kerukunan antara masyarakat pengguna MAD (orang Sunda) dengan orang bangsa asing. Konsep kerukunan hidup antar sesama manusia dan mewujudkan kesejahteraan hidup, merupakan pandangan masyarakat Sunda terhadap orang bangsa asing yang terkandung dalam MAD.;--- The title of this research is “A Sundanese society’s view towards foreign nation people (A study of asihan self spell in Sukabumi district)”. This research motivated by their view of the society (sundanese) of Asihan Self Spell (ASS) users in Sukabumi district towards foreign nation. The narrative of Asihan Self Spell aims to influence the soul or the hearts of foreign nation (such as Dutch, Chinese, and other foreigners) who liked or respected, so had a ties with ASS speakers. This reasearch aims to describe the structure, the narrative context, the process of creation, the function and the meaning of ASS. This study used descriptive analysis methods, this is a qualitative research methods. This research examines the ASS from three sub-districts in Sukabumi, the result is, first is the text of ASS formed by the structure which have certain character and raises the effect or maggical powers with wisdom atmosphere which confirm the intent and the purpose of the ASS users toward foreign nation. Second, the narrative of ASS is done by monologue, and as for the dialoge interaction between speakers and audience at the time of pre-narrative and post-narrative. Third, the creation process in structured circumstances and inherited by vertically through oral. Fourth, Asihan Self Spell has a function for community owner or as a community projection system, social protest, and children’s education tools. Fifth, the meaning that contained in the ASS is as petition of a peace between community of ASS user (sundanese) with foreign nation. The concept of harmonious life among humans and realizing a live welfare, is a sundanese view’s towards foreign nation which contained in ASS.
