Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis sisindiran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini di antaranya untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis sisindiran sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing; serta perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan menulis sisindiran sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one-group pretest-posttest design. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-C SMP Negeri 1 Lembang tahun ajaran 2015/2016 yang berjumlah 40 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah tes menulis sisindiran. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) kemampuan menulis sisindiran siswa kelas VIII-C sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing termasuk dalam kategori belum mampu dengan rata-rata nilai 62,93; (2) kemampuan menulis sisindiran siswa kelas VIII-C sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing termasuk dalam kategori mampu dengan rata-rata nilai 81,33; (3) adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis sisindiran siswa kelas VIII-C sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing, yaitu meningkatnya rata-rata nilai dari 62,93 menjadi 81,33 dengan rata-rata beda 18,4. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa thitung > ttabel yaitu 17,04 > 2,42. Artinya hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima, sedangkan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Jadi, model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis sisindiran siswa kelas VIII-C SMP Negeri 1 Lembang tahun ajaran 2015/2016. --- This research is motivated by the lack of students' ability in writing sisindiran. The purpose of the study is to describe the ability in writing sisindiran before and after using Snowball Throwing learning model; as well as significant differences between the ability in writing sisindiran before and after using Snowball Throwing learning model. The method that was used in this study is quasi-experimental research with one-group pretest-posttest design. The data source for this research is class VIII-C of SMP Negeri 1 Lembang academic year of 2015/2016, which has 40 students. The instrument that was used in the research is sisindiran writing test. Based on the results, it can be concluded that (1) the ability of class VIII-C in writing sisindiran before using Snowball Throwing learning model was included into incapable category with the average value of 62,93; (2) the ability of class VIII-C in writing sisindiran after using Snowball Throwing model was included into capable category with the average value of 81,33; (3) there were significant differences between the ability of class VIII-C in writing sisindiran before and after using Snowball Throwing learning model, i.e. the increased average value of 62,93 into 81,33 with the average difference of 18,4. Hypothesis test results show that tcount> ttable i.e. 17,04> 2,42. That means the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, whereas the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. According to this, Snowball Throwing learning model can improve the ability of class VIII-C of SMP Negeri 1 Lembang academic year of 2015/2016 in writing sisindiran.
