Abstract

Permasalahan yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya prestasi belajar peserta didik kelas X Program Keahlian Administrasi Perkantoran di SMK Negeri 1 Bandung, pada Mata Pelajaran Korespondensi kompetensi dasar mengidentifikasi prosedur pembuatan surat dinas. Hal tersebut didasarkan pada hasil penilaian peserta didik yang rata-rata nilainya masih di bawah KKM (Kriteria Kelulusan Minimal). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji seberapa besar pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar peserta didik pada kompetensi dasar mengidentifikasi prosedur pembuatan surat dinas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen (quasi experimental design) dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dimana prestasi belajar di kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan Discovery Learning lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning. ;---The problem under research is the low learning achievements of the tenth grade students of Office Administration Expertise Program at SMK Negeri 1 Bandung in the subject of Correspondence for the basic competence of identifying the procedure of writing official letters. This finding is based on the results of student evaluation that are still below the criteria of minimum completion or passing grade. The research aims to study the extent to which Discovery Learning model influences students’ learning achievements in the basic competence of identifying the procedure of writing official letters. The method adopted was a quasi-experiment with non-equivalent control group design. Participants of the research was divided into two classes, namely the experimental class taught with Discovery Learning model and the control class taught with Problem-Based Learning model. The findings show that there was a difference in learning achievements between the experimental and control classes, where the learning achievements of experimental class students taught with Discovery Learning model were greater than those of the control class students taught with Problem Based Learning model.
