Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya kegiatan transaksi secara kredit di Lingkungan Cimanggu, yang dilakukan ibu rumah tangga terhadap pedagang barang keliling, yang mayoritas termasuk pada ekonomi menengah ke bawah. Barang yang dibeli tidak hanya atas dasar kebutuhan. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perilaku konsumtif ibu rumah tangga yang melakukan kredit barang di Lingkungan Cimanggu, dengan melihat karakteristik sosial ekonomi, faktor penyebab dan dampak yang muncul dari perilaku tersebut. Untuk mengetahui gambaran tersebut, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara mendalam, studi dokumentasi dan studi literatur untuk memperkuat analisis dan hasil penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan; (1) kondisi sosial ekonomi informan termasuk masyarakat menengah ke bawah, (2) faktor internal meliputi; kondisi ekonomi keluarga, kebutuhan, enggan mengunjungi pusat perbelanjaan, serta adanya kenyamanan, faktor eksternal meliputi; kemudahan kemudahan transaksi kredit, pelayanan memuaskan, dukungan keluarga, serta adanya reward, (3) perilaku konsumtif ibu rumah tangga tercipta karena adanya ketergantungan terhadap kreditur, yang menyediakan berbagai barang kebutuhan dengan cara dan syarat yang mudah, secara tidak langsung menciptakan perilaku konsumtif, (4) dampak positifnya antara lain; membantu memenuhi kebutuhan, membantu kepemilikan barang, cara pembayaran ringan, dapat libur membayar, serta adanya hadiah setiap tahunnya. Selain itu dampak negatifnya adalah; adanya tanggungan angsuran, terlibat hutang secara terus menerus, sulit memiliki tabungan, munculnya perilaku konsumtif, serta adanya beban pikiran yang dirasakan karena mayoritas berpenghasilan tidak menentu.;--- This research is based on credit transaction activity in Cimanggu, which is conducted by housewives toward roving goods seller, whose most of goods are middle class economic goods . The bought goods are not only needs. This research aims to find out the housewives consumptive behavior in buying credit goods in Cimanggu, by observing social economy character, factors, and impacts. To recognize the case, the researcher uses qualitative approaching with case study method. The data collection technique uses observation, interview, documentation study, and literature study to strengthen the analyze and research result. This research result shows; (1) social economy condition of informant, including middle class society, (2) the internal factors include; the family economy condition, needs, indolent to go to the market, and pleasure, the external factors include; simplicity in crediting goods, the satisfying services, family support, and reward, (3) housewives consumptive behavior is established because of the dependence toward creditor which provides variety common goods with easy way and condition. It is indirectly creating the consumptive behavior, (4) the positive impacts are; fulfillment of the needs, goods ownership, payment on account, days of grace, and the gift every year. On the other side there are also negative impacts, as such: installment credit, involved in debt continuously, difficulty to have a saving, consumptive behavior, and financial burden because they make money erroneously.
