Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh adanya permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan karakter anak, seperti maraknya kasus-kasus yang diberitakan tentang keterlibatan anak sebagai pelaku dalam kasus kekerasan, pelecehan, kecurangan dan kasus-kasus lainnya. Hal tersebut terjadi karena kurang atau bahkan tidak adanya arahan dan bimbingan dari orang tua di rumah terkait pendidikan agama yang merupakan landasan untuk membentuk karakter pada diri anak dengan penanaman nilai-nilai agama yang dijadikan sebagai rambu-rambu dalam melakukan berbagai hal di kehidupannya yangsangat penting untuk ditanamkan kepada anak sejak usia dini. Maka dari itu, alternatifnya adalah melalui pendidikan agama yang diberikan di sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1) konsep Islamic Character Building, 2) implementasi Islamic Character Building, dan 3)teknik evaluasi atau penilaian peserta didik dalam program Islamic Character Building untuk anak usia dini di Galenia Daycare and Preschool. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif, bertujuan untuk menggali informasi secara mendalam dan untuk mendapatkan deskripsi detail mengenai upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru dan kepala sekolah dalam menerapkan Islamic Character Building pada anak. Partisipan penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, guru dan orang tua peserta didik Galenia Daycare and Preschool. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi program Islamic Character Building untuk anak usia dini difokuskan kedalam tiga bagian, yaitu berkaitan dengan pendidikan aqidah, pendidikan ibadah, dan pendidikan akhlak. Islamic Character Building diterapkan melalui aktivitas rutin atau kegiatan pembiasaan sehari-hari di sekolah, sarana dan prasarana, media atau sumber belajar yang ada sudah dapat menunjang terlaksananya program Islamic Character Building untuk anak usia dini di Galenia Daycare and Preschool Kota Bandung.;--- This research was motivated by the problems related to the child's character, such as the rampant cases were reported on the involvement of children as perpetrators in cases of violence, abuse, fraud and other cases. This happens because of lack or even absence of direction and guidance from parents in the home related to religious education which is the foundation for shaping the character in children with cultivation of religious values that serve as signposts of doing things in life are very important to be imparted to children from an early age. Therefore, the alternative is through religious education provided in schools. The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) the concept of Islamic Character Building, 2) the implementation of Islamic Character Building, and 3) technical evaluation or assessment of students in Islamic Character Building program for early childhood in Galenia Daycare and Preschool. This study uses a case study with a qualitative approach, aims to explore in depth information and to obtain a detailed description of the efforts made by teachers and principals to implement the Islamic character-building in children. Study participants in this study were principals, teachers and parents of students Galenia Daycare and Preschool. The results showed that the implementation of Islamic Character Building program for early childhood is focused into three parts, namely related to aqidah education, religious education and moral education. Islamic Character Building implemented through routine activities or activities of daily habituation in schools, infrastructure, media or learning resources that exist already can support the implementation of Islamic Character Building program for early childhood Galenia Daycare and Preschool in Bandung.
