Abstract
Cirebon merupakan salah satu kota yang ada di perbatasan Jawa Barat dan Jawa Tengah, dan dijuluki sebagai ‘Kota Wali’, karena terdapat makam Sunan Gunung Jati di Cirebon, beliau adalah penyebar agama Islam di Pulau Jawa bersama para Wali yang lainnya. Di Cirebon memiliki banyak sekali peninggalan yang dapat disaksikan sampai saat ini, baik sejarah maupun kebudayaannya. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari adanya keraton-keraton dan bangunan bersejerah lain. Cirebon juga memiliki tradisi, seni, dan warisan budaya pada masa lalu yang sangat berbeda dari kota-kota lain, sehingga menambah daya tarik wisata bagi para wisatawan untuk berkunjung ke Cirebon. Selain itu Cirebon juga sangat terkenal dengan industri Batik Cirebon yang sudah terkenal di berbagai daerah bahkan sudah diekspor hingga ke mancanegara. Cirebon juga memiliki beberapa warisan budaya lokal yakni berupa Wayang, Sandiwara, Sintren, Tari Topeng dan sebagainya. Beberapa tahun belakangan ini Tari Topeng bisa disebut menjadi ciri atau ikon Cirebon, dan banyak usaha yang telah dilakukan untuk mempertahankan peninggalan sejarah ini agar tidak punah, namun sebenarnya masih ada saja hambatan atau ancaman untuk kesenian yang ada di Cirebon untuk punah dan tergerus oleh budaya asing. Dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan analisis SWOT untuk menentukan strategi yang dilakukan untuk mengembangkan Tari Topeng sebagai daya tarik wisata budaya di Kabupaten Cirebon. Diharapkan penelitian ini bermanfaat, yang telah dilakukan dengan adanya pengembangan Tari Topeng dapat mewadahi pelestarian warisan budaya Cirebon dan perlu adanya dukungan dari semua pihak baik dari Pemerintah Daerah, pelaku seni maupun masyarakat terkait. Kata Kunci : Wisata Budaya, Pengembangan, dan Cirebon. Cirebon is one of city in the border of West Java and Central Java, and known as “Kota Wali”, because there is the cemetery of Sunan Gunung Jati in Cirebon, he is the disseminator of Islam in Java Island together with another Wali. In Cirebon, there are so many inheritances which can be seen until now, even the history or the culture. We can see it from the existence of the temples and other historic buildings. Cirebon also has tradition, art, and culture heritage from the past which are so different with other cities, so that increase the tourism attraction for the tourist to visit Cirebon. Furthermore, Cirebon is also famous with the Batik Cirebon industry which has been known in every area even has been exported to other countries. Cirebon also has some local cultures heritage those are Wayang, Sandiwara, Sintren, Mask dance, and so on. For the past recent years, Mask Dance has became the icon of Cirebon, and so many struggles which has been done to make the heritage still exist, but in fact there are still some obstacles and threats for the in Cirebon to die out and disappeared by the west cultures. In this research the method that I used is descriptive by using SWOT analysis to determine the strategy which will be done to develop Mask Dance as the culture tourism attraction in Cirebon Regency. We wish this research can be useful, which has been done by the existence of Mask Dance development and can provide the place for the conservation of Cirebon cultures heritage and it is needed the support from all parties from the government of the region, art actor and also the society.
