Abstract

Menulis berita merupakan salah satu kompetensi dasar yang terdapat pada Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan, khususnya untuk kelas VIII. Tujuan pada penelitian ini adalah: (1) mendeskripsikan hasil menulis teks berita di kelas eksperimen sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan teknik brainwriting, (2) mendeskripsikan hasil menulis teks berita di kelas kontrol sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan teknik 3M, (3) membuktikan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Selain itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis teks berita. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung dengan subjek penelitian kelas VIII F sebagai kelas ekperimen dan VIII C sebagai kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttest di kelas eksperimen adalah 60,43 dan 81,48. Hal tersebut menunjukkan kenaikan nilai sebanyak 21,05, sedangkan di kelas kontrol data rata-rata pretest dan posttest adalah 54,85 dan 70,85. Kenaikan nilai yang dialami sebanyak 16. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil menulis teks berita sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan perlakuan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Selanjutnya, Hasil uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t Independent Sample T-test untuk taraf signifikansi 0,05 dan derajat kebebasan (df) = 43 dengan nilai -thitung < -ttabel (-6,190 < -2,016) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis teks berita kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpilkan bahwa teknik brainwriting dapat diterapkan pada pembelajaran menulis teks berita.; News writing is one of the basic competencies consisted in Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan, particularly for grade VIII. The purposes of this study are: (1) determine the results of writing news text in the experimental class before and after the implementation of Brainwriting technique; (2) determine the results of writing news text in the control class before and after the using of 3M technique; (3) proving the significant difference between the control class and experimental class. In addition, this study was conducted to know the students’ ability in the learning of writing of news text. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. This research was conducted in SMP Laboratorium Percontohan UPI Bandung with class of VIIIF as the research subjects of experimental class and class of VIIIC as the control class. Based on the results of the study, the average score of Pre-test and Post-test in the experimental group were 60.43 and 81.48. It shows the improvement in the score as much as 21.05, whereas in the control class, the average score of Pre-test and Post-test were 54.85 and 70.85. The improvement score was 16. It shows that there is an improvement in the result of news text written before and after the treatment in experimental class and control class. Furthermore, the hypothesis was tested by using independent t-test for 0,05 of significance level and the degree of freedom=43 with a value of -thitung < -ttable (-6.190 < -2.016) and indicated that there was significant difference between the ability of writing news text in experimental class and control class. Thus, the brainwriting technique can use for writing news text.
