Abstract

Penelitian ini berawal dari keprihatinan peneliti mengenai rendahnya sopan santun di kalangan peserta didik. Berdasarkan laporan dari guru IPS dan hasil observasi awal yang dilakukan oleh peneliti di kelas VIII-C SMP Negeri 3 Pamulihan, ditemukan beberapa data yang menunjukkan ketidaksantunan peserta didik, diantaranya yaitu: lunturnya budaya senyum, salam, sapa, dan mencium tangan ketika bertemu dengan guru, nada bicara kepada guru sama seperti berbicara dengan teman, sering mengeluarkan kata-kata kasar serta menyalahi aturan dalam berpakaian. Hal tersebut, bertolak belakang dengan karakter budaya Sunda yang sangat menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai sopan santun. Selain itu, sopan santun merupakan salah satu sikap sosial yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian khusus dalam pendidikan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan sopan santun peserta didik berbasis etika kesundaan, baik dalam aspek pengetahuan, sikap, maupun keterampilan melalui penerapan sosiodrama dalam pembelajaran IPS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan mengadopsi desain model Kemmis dan Taggart yang meliputi perencanaan (plan), tindakan (act), observasi (observe) dan refleksi (reflect). Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam tiga siklus yang masing-masing terdiri dari empat tindakan di setiap siklusnya. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis, observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi dan catatan lapangan. Data tersebut kemudian diolah secara kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan sopan santun peserta didik berbasis etika kesundaan yang signifikan pada siklus ketiga, baik pada aspek pengetahuan, sikap, maupun aspek keterampilan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran IPS melalui penerapan sosiodrama dapat meningkatkan sopan santun peserta didik berbasis etika kesundaan. ; This study originated from the researcher’ concern about the low manners among learners. Based on reports from social studies teacher and the results of preliminary observations regarding class VIII-C of SMP Negeri 3 Pamulihan, some data have shown impolite manners among the students including: the slight behaviour when they smile, shake the hands, greetings or hand kissing when meeting their teachers, treating and talking to their teachers informally just like friends, often using harsh words, and violating the dress code. This is in contrast to the character of the Sundanese culture that upholds the value of manners. In addition, courtesy is one of social attitudes that needs to be heeded in education. The purpose of this research is to improve the manners of learners based on Sundanese ethics, both in terms of knowledge, attitude, and skills through the application of sociodrama to Social Studies learning. The method used is a classroom action research design adopted from models by Kemmis and Taggart that covers planning, action, observation and reflection. This research was carried out in three cycles, each consisting of four acts. Data collection techniques used in the form of written tests, observations, interviews, documentary studies, and field notes. The data is then processed to descriptive qualitative. The results showed that an increase significantly of learners’ manners based on Sundanese ethics on third cycle, both in the aspect of knowledge and attitude, as well as in the aspect of skills. It can be concluded that social studies learning through the implementation of sociodrama manners can improve learners’ in Sundanese based ethics.
