Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya aktivitas dan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas IV di salah satu SD Kota Bandung. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari kurangnya partisipasi siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan sebanyak 68,97% siswa mendapat nilai di bawah KKM pada mata pelajaran IPA. Masalah ini terjadi karena guru dalam proses pembelajaran belum menerapkan strategi belajar inovatif. Pembelajaran masih bersifat konvensional sehingga belum mampu mendorong siswa untuk terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan pendekatan kontekstual. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas model spiral dari Kemmis dan Taggart. Partisipan pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV sebanyak 29 siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari tahap plan (perencanaan), act and observe (tindakan dan observasi), dan reflect (refleksi). Pengumpulan data hasil belajar diperoleh melalui teknik tes dengan menggunakan lembar soal, kemudian pelaksanaan dan aktivitas diperoleh melalui teknik observasi partisipatif dengan menggunakan lembar observasi, dan teknik dokumentasi sebagai bukti nyata kegiatan penelitian. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan kontekstual dapat meningkatkan aktivitas yang meliputi visual activities sebesar 100%, oral activities bertanya sebesar 65,52%, dan berpendapat sebesar 82,76%, motor activities sebesar 96,55%, serta writing activities sebesar 79,31% pada siklus II dan hasil belajar siswa yang telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan sebesar 86,21% pada siklus II.; This research is motivated by the low activity and natural science learning outcomes of students in the fourth grade in one of elementary school in Bandung. It is shown from the lack of student participation in the learning process and as much as 68.97% of students scored below the KKM in natural science subjects. This problem occurs because the teacher in the learning process have yet to implement innovative learning strategies. Learning is still conventional so as not to encourage the students to be actively involved in learning activities. Therefore, this study aims to improve the activity and student learning outcomes by applying a contextual approach. The method used is action research spiral model of Kemmis and Taggart. Participants in this study were the fourth grade students at 29 students. This study was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of a stage plan, act and observe, and reflect. To collect the data, this study was used test by using a booklet for learning outcomes, then the execution and student activities used participant observation techniques by using observation sheets, and documentation as a clear evidence of research activities. Data analysis technique used is the technique of qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the application of contextual approach can increase the activity which includes visual activities amounted to 100%, oral activities (ask a quolestion) by 65.52%, and express opinions of 82.76%, amounting to 96.55% of motor activities, and writing activities amounted to 79.31 % in the second cycle and learning outcomes of students who have achieved success indicator amounted to 86.21% in the second cycle.
