Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menguji pengaruh Outdoor Education terhadap empati siswa. Melalui empat program kegiatan yaitu, Hiking, Climbing, Rafting, dan Camping. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Bayongbong yang berjumlah 206 orang. Sampel yang dipilih sebanyak 60 orang yang diambil secara simple random sampling. Berdasarkan teknik tersebut, diperoleh 30 sampel kelompok eksperimen dan 30 sampel kelompok kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur sikap empati adalah menggunakan tes skala empati yang telah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data diolah dengan software MS Excel 2010 dan perhitungan statistik dalam menguji hipotesis menggunakan bantuan SPSS 23 melalui uji-t berpasangan Paired sampel t test. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas Outdoor Education memberikan pengaruh terhadap empati siswa dengan nilai Sig. 2-tailed 0,000 < α 0,05. Kesimpulan adalah Outdoor Education memberikan pengaruh terhadap empati siswa. Adapun saran dalam penelitian ini yaitu, untuk meningkatkan empati siswa lewat pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani dapat dilakukan melalui aktivitas outdoor education.; The purpose of this study was to determine and test the effect of outdoor education against students’ empathy. Through four program activities, those are, Hiking, Climbing, Rafting, and Camping. The method that used in this study is an experimental method by Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The populations are 206 students grade VIII of Junior High School 3 Bayongbong. The writer chooses 60 students as a sample, that taken by simple random sampling method. Based on these techniques, the experimental group obtained 30 samples and 30 samples of the control group. The instrument used to measure the empathy is using empathy scale tests that have been tested for validity and reliability. The data was processed with MS Excel 2010 software and statistical calculations in testing hypotheses using SPSS 23 through t-test Paired sampel t test. The results of data analysis showed that outdoor education activities effect the students empathy with the Sig. 2-tailed 0,000 <α 0.05. The conclusion is outdoor education was effected the students’ empathy. The suggestions in this study is outdoor education could be a great way to increase students’ empathy.
