Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang dijumpai di kelas 8A SMPN 29 Bandung yaitu antusiasme belajar yang rendah, rendahnya tanggung jawab siswa dalam pembelajaran, serta rendanya tingkat empati siswa antar sesama. Meninjau permasalahan yang akan diteliti berkaitan dengan proses pembelajaran, maka peneliti memilih Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan desain penelitian Kemmis dan McTaggart dalam 3 siklus. Alternatif pemecahan masalah yang dipilih yaitu penerapan media lagu-lagu kritik sosial. Adapun pengembangan sikap empati siswa dapat dilihat dari perkembangan indikator empati siswa yaitu siswa mampu mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan dan kebutuhan masyarakat marjinal, siswa memahami hal yang terkait kehidupan kaum miskin yang termarjinalkan, siswa sudah mulai terdapat kesadaran aspek-aspek kecil yang berhubungan secara tidak langsung dengan kelompok masyarakat marjinal, siswa sudah mulai memiliki kesadaran mengenai dampak kondisi kehidupan kaum marjinal, memahami secara utuh kondisi kehidupan kaum marjinal karena sudah merasakan apa yang dirasakan kaum marjinal, siswa memiliki pemikiran untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan bagi kaum marjinal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa (1), perencanaan penelitian dirancang dengan baik. (2), pelaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran dengan penerapan media lagu kritik sosial dilaksanakan semakin terarah pada setiap siklusnya. (3), merefleksikan kendala yang ditemukan pada setiap siklus serta mengatasi kendala tersebut pada siklus selanjutnya. (4), Penerapan media lagu kritik sosial nyatanya dapat menumbuhkan minat siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS .; This research is motivated by the problems encountered in class 8-A SMPN 29 Bandung, enthusiasm to learn a low, low responsibility of students in learning, as well as lace degree of empathy between fellow students. Reviewing the problems to be studied with regard to the learning process, the researchers chose a Class Action Research (PTK) with Kemmis and McTaggart research design in 3 cycles. Alternative solutions were selected, namely the application of media songs of social criticism. The development of empathy of students can be seen from the development indicators of empathy student that the student is able to know the differences in the capabilities and needs of marginalized communities, students understand the associated life of the poor, marginalized, the student has started there is awareness of aspects of small associated indirectly with the group marginalized communities, students have started an awareness of the impact the living conditions of the marginalized, gaining a full understanding of the living conditions of marginalized because they feel what the marginalized, the students had ideas for solving the problems for the marginalized. Based on the research results show that (1), a well-designed research planning. (2), the implementation of learning activities with the implementation of social media criticism song performed increasingly directed at each cycle. (3), reflecting the constraints found in every cycle and overcome these obstacles in the next cycle. (4) The application of social media criticism song in fact can cultivate students' interest in learning Social Studies.
