Abstract

Produktivitas dalam dunia pendidikan berkaitan dengan keseluruhan proses penataan dan penggunaan sumber daya untuk mencapai tujuan pendidikan secara efektif dan efisien. Produktivitas yang diharapkan sekolah salah satunya adalah untuk peningkatan pengetahuan dan perilaku siswa ke arah yang lebih baik. Dalam konteks pendidikan, kinerja kepimimpinan Kepala Sekolah sangat menentukan mutu dari institusi pendidikan yang dipimpinnya. Selain kinerja Kepala Sekolah, faktor lain yang turut berkontribusi terhadap produktivitas sekolah adalah teknologi. Saat ini, banyak lembaga-lembaga pendidikan mulai gencar menggunakan teknologi dalam sebuah pembelajaran. Mengacu kepada hasil studi pendahuluan atas beberapa SMP swasta di Kota Bandung, ditemukan adanya beberapa indikasi kurang optimalnya kinerja Kepala Sekolah dan pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Sedangkan secara teoritis, kedua hal ini berpengaruh terhadap produktivitas sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan dimaksudkan untuk menguji kontribusi kinerja Kepala Sekolah dan pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran terhadap produktivitas sekolah di SMP Swasta terakreditasi A Se-Subrayon 01,02,03 dan 04-Kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya kontribusi kinerja Kepala Sekolah sebesar 21,3%, sementara pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran berkontribusi terhadap produktivitas sekolah sebesar 36,2%. Kinerja Kepala Sekolah dan pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran secara bersama-sama berkontribusi terhadap produktivitas sekolah 37,2 %. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan beberapa hal yang terkait dengan kinerja Kepala Sekolah serta pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran yang mesti dibenahi, yakni: 1) kurangnya upaya Kepala Sekolah dalam menindaklanjuti hasil supervisi, 2) kurangnya ketersediaan alat pembelajaran yang berbasis teknologi. Karena itu, rekomendasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlu adanya komitmen dan keseriusan Kepala Sekolah untuk menindaklanjuti hasil supervisi. Tindak lanjut dimaksud bisa berupa pertemuan dengan Guru yang bersangkutan untuk menyampaikan hasil temuan supervisi sambil memberikan koreksian dan masukan yang produktif untuk perbaikan di masa mendatang serta melalui pelatihan dan seminar-seminar yang berorentasi pada peningkatan kualitas mengajar Guru. Selain itu, pihak sekolah dalam hal ini Kepala Sekolah dan para stakeholders lainnya perlu memikirkan dan menganggarkan pengadaan fasilitas belajar berbasis teknologi dalam setiap perencanaan tahunan. Hendaknya fasilitas pembelajaran berbasis teknologi disiapkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan sekolah sehingga masing-masing kelas bisa menggunakan alat-alat ini kapan saja dibutuhkan. ; The productivity of education is highly related to the overall process of organizing and implementing the potentials in order to achieve the objective of the education effectively and efficiently. The expected productivity is the improvement of knowledge as well as students attitude. In education, the performance of the school Principal plays an important role in attaining the good quality of the institution. In addition, the implementation of advanced technology is another key factor which contributes to the productivity of the school. Nowdays, more and more institutions are determined to take the advantage of technology in the teaching and learning process. Previous studies on several private Schools in Bandung have indicated that Principal’s performance as well us the use of technology in learning process are not optimal. Theoritically, those two factors play important roles in measuring the school productivity. This study uses descriptive method which adopts quantitative approach to assess the contribution of both the Principal’s performance and the use of technology in the learning process upon the school productivity in A-accredited private secondary schools in sub-district 01,02,03 and 04 in Bandung. This study is aimed to identify the contribution of the school principal’s work performance and the use of technology in teaching-learning towards the school ‘s productivity in private secondary schools with A-accreditation in subregions 01, 02, 03 and 04 – in Bandung. In order to enhance the productivity of the school, a good work performance of the principal as well as the creativity of the teachers in using the technology in the learning process are required. The research shows that the work performance of the principal contributes as high as 21,3%, while the use of technology in learning process contributes even higher, 36,2%. All together, the principal’s work performance and the use of technology contribute as much as 37,2% to the productivity of the school. During the study, there are some findings concerning the learning process which need to be amended :1). The lack of effort from the principal’s part to follow up the findings resulted from a particular supervision. 2). The lack of technological teaching/learning aids. Therefore, This research suggests that it is crucial to have a serious commitment from the school principal to follow up the results of the supervisory observation. The expected follow up, for instance, can be done in having a meeting in which the teacher in charged of the supervision can present his observation and have some discussion to have some constructive feedback. This, in turn, can induce some improvement in the future. Some trainings and seminars pertaining education can surely improve the teaching quality of the teachers. Furthermore, the school represented by the principal, and other stake holders also need to consider the procurement plan for scholl technology-based facilities in their annual planning. It is highly suggested that this technology-based learning facilities should be prepared in accordance with what the school needs so that each class can use the facility as necessary.
