Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingginya intensitas konflik antarlansia di Panti Tresna Werdha Budi Pertiwi. Lansia di panti werdha memiliki rasa senasib sepenanggungan karena berada kondisi yang sama yaitu tinggal jauh dari keluarga dan termasuk kedalam kategori lansia yang memiliki keterbatasan maupun kelebihan. Namun bagi sebagian lansia hal tersebut belum dapat membuat lansia hidup nyaman dan harmonis dengan sesama lansia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana konflik interpersonal dalam interaksi sosial lansia. Untuk mendapatkan gambaran mengenai konflik interpersonal yang terjadi antarlansia, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, studi dokumentasi, dan studi literatur untuk memperkuat analisis dan hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa bentuk konflik interpersonal yang terjadi di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Budi Pertiwi adalah konflik verbal dengan intensitas yang sering dan waktu interaksi konflik yang sebentar. Faktor internal penyebab konflik yaitu kepribadian lansia dan kebiasaan lansia, sedangkan faktor eksternal yaitu banyaknya waktu luang dan lingkungan sosial. Dampak yang ditimbulkan dari konflik yaitu dampak positif dan dampak negatif. Dampak positif yaitu adanya peraturan panti mengenai lansia yang berkonflik, sedangkan dampak negatifnya yaitu menurunnya hubungan interaksi antarlansia, mengganggu lansia lain, dan berdampak pada kesehatan lansia. Cara untuk mengatasi konflik yang dilakukan oleh pihak panti yaitu dengan melerai konflik secara langsung, sedangkan cara meminimalisasi yaitu dengan nasihat, peraturan panti, dan penguatan agama. Beberapa cara yang telah dilakukan oleh pihak panti dapat mengurangi intensitas konflik interpersonal antarlansia yang terjadi di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Budi Pertiwi.; This research was motivated by the high intensity of conflict among elderly at Budi Pertiwi Nursing Home. The elderly at nursing home possess a sense of camaraderie because they are in the same condition, that is, living separated from the family and being included into the category of the elderly who possess limitations or advantages. However, for some elderly, this sense of camaraderie is not able to make them live comfortably and harmoniously with their fellow elderly. This study aims to discover the interpersonal conflict in elderly social interaction. To obtain an overview of interpersonal conflict occurring among the elderly, researcher used qualitative approach, while the data collection technique used was participant observation technique, in-depth interview, documentation study, and literature study to strengthen the analysis and research results. Research results show the form of interpersonal conflict occurring at Budi Pertiwi Nursing Home, which is verbal conflict with frequent intensity but short duration. The factors causing this conflict include internal factors such as personalities and habits of the elderly, and external factors such as high amount of free time and different social environment. The impacts of this conflict consist of positive and negative impact. The positive impact is the establishment of rules at the Nursing Home regarding elderly conflict, while the negative impacts include the decline of elderly interaction, disturbance to other elderly people, and health decline of the elderly. The method done by the nursing home to resolve conflict is by directly arbitrating the conflict, while the means to minimize conflict is through counsel, rules, and the strengthening of religion. Several means conducted by the nursing home are able to reduce the intensity of elderly interpersonal conflict occurring at Budi Pertiwi Nursing Home.
