Abstract

Kemampuan mengelola emosi diperlukan untuk keberlangsungan hidup. Peserta didik yang tidak terampil mengelola emosi akan mengalami dampak buruk dalam kehidupan pribadi dan sosial. Kemampuan mengelola emosi penting bagi peserta didik agar dapat mengatur hidup dengan pikiran dan perasaan terkontrol yang ditampilkan dengan perilaku adaptif. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena kemampuan pengelolaan emosi peserta didik SMA yang semakin mengkhawatirkan. Peserta didik SMA disebut sebagai remaja dengan karakteristik emosional yang memuncak, fluktuatif, mudah dipengaruhi, sulit dikendalikan, dan tidak mampu mengekspresikan emosi secara adaptif. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran umum kemampuan pengelolaan emosi peserta didik dan merancang program layanan konseling untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pengelolaan emosi peserta didik. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Partisipan penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI MA Negeri 1 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015 yang berjumlah 240 peserta didik. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah : (1) kemampuan pengelolaan emosi peserta didik berada pada kategori sedang; (2) rancangan program layanan konseling untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pengelolaan emosi peserta didik dengan materi memfokuskan perhatian, pengambilan keputusan, perilaku adaptif, mengelola suasana hati, menghibur, menenangkan dan mengatur perasaan orang lain, terbuka terhadap perasaan sendiri dan orang lain, serta menginspirasi orang lain. Hasil penelitian direkomendasikan bagi guru Bimbingan dan Konseling dan peneliti selanjutnya.; The Emotional Management Ability is needed in living sustainability. Unskillful students who are not able to manage their emotion will have adverse impact to their personal and social life. Being able to manage emotion is a very important case for the students to manage their life by controlled thought and feeling which is shown by adaptive behavior. The background of this research is the phenomenon of emotional management skills of students’ secondary school level is increasingly worrisome. The students’ secondary school level is called as adolescences who have emotional characteristics are peaked, unstable, easily influenced, difficult to control, and unable to express emotions adaptively. The purpose of this research is to recognize general description the emotional management ability of students and design counseling service program to increase the emotional management ability of students. This research uses descriptive method with quantitative approach. The participants in this research are 240 of XI Grade Students of MA Negeri 1 Bandung Academic Year 2014/2015. The instruments of this research uses questioner. The results of this research are (1) the emotional management ability of students is in the middle level; (2) the design counseling service program to increase the emotional management ability of students with material which focus on attention, decision-making, adaptive behavior, managing moods, entertaining, calming and arranging the feelings of others, welcoming to the feelings of themselves and others, and inspire others. The results of this research are recommended for teacher guidance and counseling and further research.
