Abstract
Kinerja keuangan perusahaan asuransi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada periode tahun 2009 sampai tahun 2013 belum memuaskan. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan menurunnya profitabilitas, yang diduga solvabilitas sebagai faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran solvabilitas yang diukur dengan Risk Based Capital (RBC) dan profitabilitas yang diukur dengan Return on Equity (ROE) serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh solvabilitas terhadap profitabilitas pada perusahaan asuransi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dan verifikatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik sampling purposive berdasarkan pada kriteria tertentu. Analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah regresi linier sederhana. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji T pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Gambaran solvabilitas menunjukkan pertumbuhan yang meningkat, sedangkan profitabilitas menunjukkan pertumbuhan yang menurun. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa solvabilitas berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap profitabilitas. ---------- The financial performance of the insurance companies which were listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange was not satisfactory. It was marked by profitability declining, the solvency suspected as a influencing factor. The aims of this research is to describe the solvency as measured by Risk Based Capital (RBC) and profitability as measured by Return on Equity (ROE) as well as to identify the influence of solvency on profitability in insurance companies which were listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. This research is a quantitative research. The research applied descriptive and verifiable method. The samples of this research were determined by using purposive sampling techniques based on specific kriteria. Simple linear regression analysis were used as Statistical Analysis. Hypothesis test was done by using T test at 5% significance level. Solvency overview showed increased growth, while profitability showed declining growth. The results of hypothesis test showed that the influence of solvency negatively significant on profitability.
