Abstract
Tugas seorang setter dengan pemain di posisi lain dalam bola voli sangatlah berbeda, begitu juga aktivitasnya saat melakukan olahraga bola voli. Seorang setter lebih menggunakan kemampuan intelektualnya untuk menerapkan strategi maupun dalam hal pemecahan masalah yang ada saat berlatih maupun saat bertanding, sesuai dengan tugasnya yaitu sebagai pengumpan dan pengatur permainan. Dengan latar belakang tersebut dimungkinkan IQ seorang setter lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan IQ pemain selain setter dalam bola voli. Tetapi hipotesis bahwa IQ setter lebih tinggi dibandingkan pemain di posisi selain setter belum terbukti kebenarannya. Oleh karena itu peneliti melakukan penelitian mengenai perbandingan tingkat kecerdasan IQ setter dengan IQ pemain di posisi selain setter dalam cabang olahraga bola voli. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan IQ setter/tosser dengan pemain di posisi selain setter dalam olahraga bola voli. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah ex post facto, desain causal-comparative dengan teknik pengambilan sampel Disproportionate Stratified Random Sampling pada anggota laki-laki Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) Bola Voli UPI dengan sample yaitu 8 setter bola voli dan 10 pemain selain setter. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Tes IQ APM (Advanced Progressive Matrics). Hasil yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji statistik Independent Sample T-Test menggunakan Software SPSS 21. Dari analisis data diperoleh hasil F = 0.002, p = 0.851 > 0.05, maka H0 diterima, artinya tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara tingkat kecerdasan IQ setter UKM Bola Voli UPI dengan IQ pemain di posisi selain setter UKM Bola Voli UPI. Kata kunci : Kecerdasan Intelektual (IQ), Olahraga Bola Voli The duty of a setter from another position in volleyball is totally different, yet the activity that a setter has been done in volleyball. The setter uses more its intelligence to apply the strategy and problem-solving that happened in a training and match, related to its duty: as an assist-er and play-maker. Regarding to background, the probability of setter’s IQ is higher than the rest of the player. But the hypothesis of the statement that the setter’s IQ is higher than the other is debatable. For the reason above, the researcher does the research about the comparison between the setter’s IQ with the other players in different position in volleyball. The aims of this research is to discover the difference of setter’s IQ to the others player except the setter in volleyball. The research method that is used in this research, is ex post facto, causal-comparative design with Disproportionate Stratified Random Sampling as a technique of collecting data to the men’s member of Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) Bola Voli UPI with eight setters and ten players except setter. The instrument, that is used in this research is IQ APM (Advanced Progressive Matrics) Test. The result of the test will be analyzed by Independent Sample T-Test statistics test by using SPSS 21 software. From the collected data, if the result is F = 0.002, p = 0.851 > 0.05, H0 is accepted, it means that there is no significance between the setter of UKM Bola Voli UPI IQ with the other players in UKM Bola Voli UPI.
