Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Eduction (RME) untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada materi penjumlahan pecahan dikarenakan lemahnya pemahaman siswa mengenai materi penjumlahan pecahan karena cara mengajar guru yang konvensional dan otoriter. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengadaptasi model Kemmis & Taggart. Berdasarkan hal tersebut penelitian ini dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV-A di Sekolah Dasar kecamatan Sukajadi, semester genap tahun pelajaran 2015/2016, Peneliti memilih 25 siswa, yang terdiri dari 11 siswa perempuan dan 14 siswa laki-laki. Hasil penelitian perencanaan pembelajaran harus mengandung lima prinsip dari RME, memperhatikan alokasi waktu serta media. Pada proses pelaksanaannya langkah-langkah pembelajaran berdasarkan prinsip RME, yaitu: menggunakan konteks; menggunaan model; interaktivitas; pemanfaatan hasil kontruksi siswa; dan keterkaitan. Hal ini menyebabkan meningkatnya aktivitas guru dan siswa. Sehingga hasil belajar matematika siswa pada materi penjumlahan pecahan setelah diterapkannya pendekatan RME meningkat. Pada siklus I perolehan nilai rata-rata siswa 62 dengan presentase ketuntasan belajar 32%, dan meningkat pada siklus II dengan nilai rata-rata siswa 83 dengan presentase 84%. Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut, disarankan kepada guru untuk menerapkan pendekatan RME pada pembelajaran matematika. The study was motivated by the low student learning outcomes in summation material fractions due to a weak student understanding of the material sum of fractions because conventional ways of teaching teachers and authoritarian. The method used is the Classroom Action Research (CAR), which adapt the model Kemmis & Taggart. Based on that research is done in several stages, namely stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This research was conducted in two cycles. Participants in this study were students of class IV-A elementary school districts Sukajadi, the second semester of 2015/2016 academic year, researchers selected 25 students, which consisted of 11 female students and 14 male students. Results of research learning plan must contain the five principles of RME, the allocation of time and media. In the implementation process of learning steps based on the principle of RME, namely: using context; uses models; interactivity; utilization of construction students; and linkages. This leads to increased activity of teachers and students. So the results of students' mathematics learning in summation material fractions after the implementation of RME approach increases. In the first cycle the average acquisition value of 62 with the percentage of students learning completeness 32%, and increased in the second cycle with an average value of 83 students with a percentage of 84%. Based on these studies, it is suggested to teachers to implement the RME approach to learning mathematics. Keyword: learning approaches, realistic mathematics education, learning outcomes
