Abstract

Berdasarkan permasalahan yang terjadi di sekolah terutama yang terjadi pada siswa tunagrahita ringan usia remaja menunjukkan masih terdapat kekurangan dalam mengoptimalkan kemampuan keterampilan sosial yang dimiliki oleh siswa. Beberapa Siswa tunagrahita ringan usia remaja cenderung mengalami hambatan dalam keterampilan sosial dikarenakan kurangnya kesempatan yang diberikan oleh lingkungan sekitar pada siswa tunagrahita untuk melakukan sosialisasi, lalu siswa kekurangan motivasi dan bimbingan oleh lingkungan terdekat siswa sehingga kemampuan keterampilan sosial pada diri siswa menjadi terhambat. Usia remaja merupakan usia dimana siswa akan segera terjun ke lingkungan masyarakat dimana siswa akan mengoptimalkan keterampilan sosialnya ketika hidup bermasyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode role playing dalam mengembangkan keterampilan sosial pada siswa tunagrahita ringan usia remaja di SPLB-C YPLB Cipaganti. Metode role playing melibatkan interaksi antara dua siswa atau lebih tentang suatu topik atau situasi sosial agar memperoleh pesan-pesan keterampilan sosial yang didapatkan ketika melakukan kegiatan role playing pada proses pembelajaran. Melalui metode role playing siswa mendapatkan stimulus tentang keterampilan sosial yang nantinya digunakan ketika bersosialisasi dengan masyarakat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan menggunakan Preexperimental Design one group pre-test post-test. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah menggunakan teknik non-tes (inventori) kepribadian. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 6 orang siswa tunagrahita ringan usia remaja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor mulai dari 15 sampai 21 skor, yang berarti menunjukkan metode role playing memberikan pengaruh dalam mengembangkan keterampilan sosial siswa tunagrahita ringan usia remaja di SPLB-C YPLB Cipaganti. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini, peneliti merekomendasikan kepada guru menggunakan metode role playing sebagai alternatif metode dalam pembelajaran di kelas untuk mengembangkan keterampilan sosial siswa tunagrahita ringan usia remaja. ---------- Based on the problems that occur in schools especially those that occur in adolescence student mild mental retardation show there are still deficiencies in social skills that optimize the capabilities possessed by the students. Some mild mental retardation Students adolescence tend to have problems in social skills because of the lack of opportunities afforded by the environment surrounding the retarded students to socialize, then the student shortage of motivation and guidance by the immediate environment so that the students' ability of social skills on students become obstructed. Adolescence is an age at which students will soon plunge into the community environment where students will optimize their social skills when living in a society. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of role playing method in developing social skills in students in their teens mild mental retardation SPLB-C YPLB Cipaganti. Role playing method involves interaction between two students or more about a topic or social situation in order to obtain the messages of social skills gained when conducting role playing in the learning process. Through role playing methods students gain a stimulus of social skills that will be used when socializing with people. The method used in this study is the experimental method with quantitative approach and using Design Preexperimental one group pre-test post-test. Data collection techniques used is to use non-test technique (inventory) personality. This study was conducted on 6 teen age student mild mental retardation. The results showed an increase in scores ranging from 15 to 21 score, which means showing the method of role playing influence in developing the social skills of students in their teens mild mental retardation SPLB-C YPLB Cipaganti. Based on the results obtained from this study, researchers recommend to teachers using the method of role playing as an alternative method in the classroom to develop students' social skills mild mental retardation adolescence.
