Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kesalahan dalam menerapkan ejaan yang dilakukan oleh siswa VII SMP Negeri 45 Bandung taun ajaran 2015/2016 dalam menulis pengumuman. Hal ini dikarenakan siswa tidak mengetahui aturan ejaan bahasa Sunda yang baik dan benar, sebab di jaman sekarang alat-alat teknologi tidak menggunakan bahasa daerah tapi menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Akibatnya, setiap pelajaran bahasa Sunda, siswa tidak menghiraukan pelajaran tersebut. Sebelum kesalahan tersebut diperbaiki, tentu siswa harus mengetahui tingkat kemampuan dan kesalahannya dalam menerapkan ejaan. Oleh karena itu, diadakan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan menerapkan ejaan yang terdapat dalam karangan pengumuman siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 45 Bandung taun ajaran 2015/2016. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif. Untuk mengumpulkan data, tehnik yang digunakan yaitu tehnik tes. Sedangkan untuk menganalisis data digunakan tehnik analisis unsur langsung. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu lembar tes mengarang, lembar tes pengetahuan ejaan, dan kartu data. Berdasarkan tes mengarang pengumuman, dari 36 siswa, yang dianggap mampu menerapkan ejaan adalah 17 orang (47,21%). Pada karangan pengumuman siswa, ditemukan 820 kesalahan (39,27%) dalam menerapkan ejaan. Berdasarkan tes pengetahuan ejaan, dari 36 siswa, ada 14 siswa (38,89%) yang lulus. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan menerapkan ejaan dalam menulis pengumuman siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 45 Bandung taun ajaran 2015/2016 termasuk kategori kurang. Besarnya korelasi antara kemampuan dan pengetahuan ejaan yang dihitung menggunakan koefisien korelasi adalah 0,324. Dengan demikian, bisa diinterpretasikan hubungan antara kemampuan dan pengetahuan ejaan adalah rendah. Koefisien determinasi variabel kemampuan dan pengetahuan ejaan yaitu 0,105 atau 10,5%. Artinya, kemampuan menerapkan ejaan dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan ejaan sebesar 10,5%, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Kata kunci: ejaan, pengumuman This research is conducted due to there are errors in implementing the spelling by students at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 45 Bandung in the academic year 2015/2016 in writing announcement. It was because the students didn’t know the method of spelling in sundanese language that the best and correct, because nowdays the technology always using english and didn’t use local language. As a consequence, every subject of sundanese language, the students didn’t care to sundanese course. Before the error was corrected, of course the students must know the their level of skill and their errors in implementing the spelling. However, the objective of the study was to analyzed and to describe the students ability in implementing the spelling in writing announcement at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 45 Bandung in the academic year 2015/2016. In this research, the researcher used descriptive method. In collecting the data, the technique will be used was test. While, to analyzed the data will used the direct technique. The research instrument in this research was an essay writing test, the piece of spelling knowledge and the data card. Based on the result of the writing announcement from 36 students, who was considered to be able to apply spelling was 17 students (47,21%). In students’ writing announcement, it found 820 errors (39,27%) in implementing the spelling. Based on test about the spelling knowledge from 36 students, 14 students (38,89%) was pass. From the result of the study, it can be conclude that the skill level of implementing the spelling in writing announcement at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 45 Bandung in the academic year 2015/2016 included in less category. The measured correlation coefficient is 0,324. Thus, a conclusion can be drawn that the correlation between the students ability and their knowledge of the spelling is low. The determination coefficient of ability and knowledge variable is 0,105 or 10,5%. It means, the students ability in implementing the spelling is influenced by other factors than their knowledge of the spelling. Keywords: spelling, announcement
