Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum maksimalnya peningkatan hasil belajar yang berupa kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan penguasaan konsep pada materi daur air dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning. Melalui penelitian ini dikaji solusi untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut, yaitu dengan melakukan pembelajaran yang menggunakan optimalisasi model Problem Based Learning. Adapun bentuk treatment optimalisasi yang dilakukan diantarnya yaitu : pemberian stimulus berupa media audiovisual sebelum dan ketika pembelajaran, siswa diberikan tugas yang ada hubungan dengan materi selanjutnya, sehingga siswa banyak membaca buku tentang materi selanjutnya dan siap untuk belajar, memberikan dorongan dan pendekatan selama pembelajaran, serta pengefektifan waktu pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memberikan solusi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan penguasaan konsep pada mata pelajaran IPA di SD kelas V. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SDN Tanjung III Kabupaten Subang dengan menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Untuk kelas eksperimen dilakukan beberapa treatment yang diduga mampu melengkapi kekurangan dari model Problem Based Learning sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol dilakukan model Problem Based Learning biasa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk melakukan penelitian yaitu : tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan penguasaan konsep serta lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan respon siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan penguasaan konsep yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, n-gain kelas yang melakukan optimalisasi model Problem Based Learning lebih baik daripada biasa, serta ada peningkatan aktivitas guru dan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran. Kata kunci : Model Problem Based Learning, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah, Kemampuan Penguasaan Konsep, , Optimalisasi Model Problem Based Learning. This research is motivated by not maximal increase in learning outcomes in the form of problem-solving ability and mastery of concepts in material recycling water using problem based learning model. Through this research studied solutions to solve these problems, namely by learning to use the optimization problem based learning model. The form of treatment optimization were conducted among which are: the provision of stimulus in the form of audiovisual media before and when learning, students are given assignments in connection with the matter further, so that students read many books about the matter further and ready to learn, provide encouragement and approaches for learning, and improve the effectiveness of learning time. The purpose of this study is to provide solutions to improve problem solving skills and mastery of concepts in science subjects in grade V. The experiment was conducted in SDN Tanjung III Subang using a quasi-experimental methods. For the experimental group performed some treatment allegedly able to complete lack of problem based learning model, while for the control class performed the usual problem based learning model. The instrument used to conduct research that is: test problem-solving ability and mastery of concepts as well as observation sheets teacher activity and student responses. The results showed differences in problem-solving ability and mastery of the concept of significant between experimental class and control class, n-gain class that perform optimization problem based learning model is better than usual, and there is increased activity of teachers and students' responses to learning.
