Abstract

Penelitian ini berangkat dari sebuah permasalahan mengenai pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran sistem operasi di SMKN 3 Bandung dimana padatnya materi sistem operasi yang harus disampaikan dengan alokasi waktu yang terbatas serta pembelajaran masih bersifat konvensional yang berpusat pada guru. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah ”Apakah penggunaan Software VMWare Workstation versi 10.0 dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa sekolah menengah kejuruan dalam ranah kognitif aspek memahami, menerapkan, dan menganalisis pada mata pelajaran sistem operasi materi pokok instalasi sistem operasi closed source?”. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan Software VMWare Workstation versi 10.0 dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa ranah kognitif dalam aspek memahami, menerapkan, dan menganalisis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain One-group experiment dalam bentuk One-group pretest and posttest design. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis tes objektif pilihan ganda. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X jurusan Multimedia di SMKN 3 Bandung dengan sampel penelitian siswa kelas MM – 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 36 orang siswa. Berdasarkan data hasil penelitian ditunjukan bahwa adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan Software VMWare Workstation versi 10.0 hal itu dapat terlihat dari skor pretest dan posttest dengan rata-rata skor pretest adalah 14,11. Lalu rata-rata skor posttest adalah 21.53. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan dan dibuktikan secara empirik bahwa pembelajaran instalasi sistem operasi menggunakan Software VMWare Workstation versi 10.0 dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Kata Kunci: Software VMWare Workstation, Hasil Belajar, Kuasi Eksperimen This research leaves from a problem of learning on subjects operating system — in which the density of the material at SMKN 3 Bandung operating systems that must be submitted with the allocation of a limited time and are still conventional learning centered on the teacher. Formulation of the problem in this research is "what is the use of Software VMWare Workstation version 10.0 can exert influence on the improvement of the results of vocational high school students learning in the realm of cognitive aspects of understanding, implementing, and analyzing on subjects operating system subject matter closed source operating system installation?". The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of Software VMWare Workstation version 10.0 can improve student learning outcomes in the cognitive domain of understanding, implementing, and analyzing. This research uses quasi experiment method to the design of One-group experiment in the form of One-group pretest and posttest design. Instruments in this research is the kind of objective multiple choice tests. The population in this research is the grade X Multimedia Department at SMK N 3 Bandung with a sample of research grade MM – 2 as an experimental class of 36 students. Based on the results of the study indicated that an increase in student learning outcomes by using VMWare Workstation version 10.0 Software it can be seen from the pretest and posttest scores by an average score of pretest is 14.11. Then the posttest score average is 21: 53. So it can be inferred and proven in the empirical study of operating system installation that uses Software VMWare Workstation version 10.0 can improve student learning outcomes.
