Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh urgensi resiliensi dalam kehidupan individu serta persoalan-persoalan yang terkait dengan resiliensi diri khususnya pada siswa. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menguji keefektivan bimbingan kelompok menggunakan teknik exercise untuk mengembangkan resiliensi diri siswa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, metode kuasi eksperimen dan non equivalent pre test post test control group desain. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan angket resiliensi siswa yang memiliki empat pilihan jawaban yaitu selalu, sering, jarang dan tidak pernah. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan adalah statistika non parametrik yaitu Man Whitney Test. Penelitian menemukan bahwa bimbingan kelompok menggunakan teknik exercise efektif untuk mengembangkan resiliensi diri siswa pada keseluruhan aspek resiliensi. Keefektivan teknik exercise juga terlihat melalui peningkatan rataan skor siswa sebelum dan setelah intervensi, telaah terhadap jurnal harian siswa dan telaah terhadap hasil observasi. Hasil penelitian ini direkomedasikan kepada kepada guru bimbingan dan konseling agar dapat menggunakan teknik exercise untuk mengembangkan resiliensi diri siswa, dan peneliti selanjutnya hendaknya dapat menggunakan jenis exercise yang lain seperti movenent (gerak), arts and crafts (seni dan kerajinan tangan), fantasy, common reading (bacaan umum), feedbackuntuk (umpan balik), trust (kepercayaan) dan beberapa jenis execise lainnya. --------- The background to this research is the urgency for resilience in individuals’ life as well as problems related to self-resilience, ultimately among students. Thus, the research is aimed at testing the effectiveness of group guidance with exercise technique to develop students’ self-resilience. It adopted quantitative approach with quasi-experiment method and employed non-equivalent pre-test post-test control group design. Data were gathered through questionnaires on students’ resilience with four alternative answers, namely always, often, seldom, and never. The data were then analyzed using the non-parametric statistical test, which is Mann-Whitney Test. The research finds that group guidance with exercise technique was effective in developing students’ self-resilience at all aspects. The effectiveness of exercise technique was also evidenced in the student’s increased average scores after intervention, results of analysis of students’ daily journals, and observation results. Based on the findings, the research recommends that guidance and counseling teachers use exercise technique to develop students’ self-resilience, and the future researchers explore other types of exercise, such as movement, arts and crafts, fantasy, common reading, feedback, trust, and the like
