Abstract

Fenomena Monsun (Monsoon) akhir-akhir ini telah menjadi pusat perhatian peneliti atmosfer Indonesia, sebagaimana direkomendasikan oleh IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) AR-4 (Assessment Report 2007) terkait kompleksitas dinamika atmosfer Indonesia. Monsun dicirikan oleh perbedaan yang tegas antara musim penghujan dan musim kemarau, dimana pembalikan arah dan kecepatan angin sebagai salah satu parameter utamanya (dikenal dengan istilah reversal wind). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa kuat pengaruh reversal wind terhadap curah hujan di kawasan barat Indonesia, dengan mengambil sample data curah hujan observasi dari tiga daerah kajian yakni stasiun Sicincin, Teluk Bayur dan Tabing dengan cara menganalisis kontur angin menggunakan Time Height Section, serta menganalisis secara temporal dengan menggunakan Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) dan Transformasi Wavelet. Hasil analisis data kecepatan angin dari Equatoial Atmosphere Radar (EAR) yakni angin zonal dan meridional bulanan periode 2002-2007, menunjukan reversal wind terjadi pada lapisan 4.853 km dpl untuk angin zonal dan 9,581 km dpl untuk angin meridional. Sementara dari data curah hujan observasi ketiga kawasan tersebut ditunjukan adanya pola monsunal yang tegas yakni 12 bulanan yang dikenal dengan Annual Oscillation (AO). Didapatkan nilai korelasi yang tinggi antara reversal wind angin meridional dengan anomali curah hujan di tiga kawasan kajian yaitu 0,611 untuk daerah Sicincin, 0,916 untuk daerah Teluk Bayur dan 0,824 untuk daerah Tabing. Ditunjukan nilai determinasi yang paling besar untuk Teluk Bayur yaitu 83,9% dengan persamaan regresi linier sederhana ΔCH = -0,189 + 0,773[reversal wind meridional di 9,581 km dpl]. Analisis spasial digunakan untuk menganalisa pola curah hujan di Sumatera Barat yang dapat mewakili pola curah hujan regional. Pola curah hujan di kawasan barat Indonesia berpola monsunal dengan osilasi dominan 12 bulanan atau AO. Kata kunci: reversal wind, EAR, angin meridional, Annual Oscillation, curah hujan The phenomenon of Monsoon lately has been being attention of atmospheric researchers in Indonesia, as recommended by IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) AR-4 (Assessment Report 2007) related to the complexity of the dynamics of the atmosphere of Indonesia. Monsoon is characterized by a clear differentiation between the rainy season and dry season, where the reversal of wind direction and speed as one of the main parameters (known as the reversal wind). The purpose of this study was to determine how strong the influence of reversal wind of the rainfall in the western region of Indonesia, by taking a sample of observations of rainfall data from three study areas which are Sicincin meteorological station, Teluk Bayur and Tabing. By analysing wind contour using Time Height Section, as well as analysing the temporally by using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Wavelet Transformation. The results of the analysis of zonal and meridional wind speed monthly data from the Equatorial Atmosphere Radar (EAR) in period from 2002 to 2007, shows reversal wind occurs in the lining of 4.85 km asl for zonal wind and 9.581 km asl for the meridional wind. While the observation of rainfall data indicated the presence of three region monsoonal pattern that is 12 monthly that known as Annual Oscillation (AO). Obtained a high value correlation between reversal wind of the meridional wind with rainfall anomalies, 0.611 for Sicincin, 0.916 for Teluk bayur, and 0.824 for Tabing. Also demonstrated the greatest value of determination for the Teluk Bayur which is 83.9% with a simple linear regression equation ΔCH = - 0.189 + 0.773 [reversal of the meridional wind at 9.581 km dpl]. Spatial analysis is used to analyse the pattern of rainfall in West Sumatra that can represent regional rainfall patterns (western region of Indonesia). The pattern of rainfall in the western region of Indonesia patterned monsoonal with dominant oscillation 12 monthly or Annual Oscillation (AO).
