Abstract

Penelitian ini berusaha untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan ekologis siswa SMP N 2 Kayen Kabupaten Pati Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kekhawatiran para siswa terhadap kehadiran pabrik semen di kawasan pegunungan Kendeng yang berdekatan dengan kawasan sekolah. Kondisi tersebut dijadikan sebagai salah satu sumber pembelajaran IPS. Desain pembelajaran IPS yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan ekologis sebagai usaha supaya siswa dapat melakukan antisipasi dampak buruk kehadiran pabrik semen. Aspek kecerdasan ekologis meliputi aspek pengetahuan, kesadaran dan keterampilan dengan indikator dari Center for Ecoliteracy. Pembelajaran menggunakan pembelajaran luar ruangan (outdoor education). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan desain dari Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Temuan dari Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kecerdasan ekologis pada aspek pengetahuan, kesadaran dan keterampilan siswa SMP N 2 Kayen. Nilai rata-rata akhir tindakan aspek pengetahuan 74.6, aspek kesadaran 81.3 dan aspek keterampilan 82.5 melebihi indikator keberhasilan  70. Rekomendasi untuk pemerintah Kabupaten Pati dapat melestarikan Pegunungan Kendeng Utara. Kata kunci: kecerdasan ekologis, pegunungan Kendeng, outdoor education. This research tries to improve the students ecological intelligence. This research is motivated by concerns of students to the presence of a cement factory in the mountains Kendeng near by the school area. The condition was used as a source to learn social studies. Social studies instructional design that aims to improve the ecological intelligence as an effort so that students will be able to anticipate the impacts of the presence of the cement factory. Ecological intelligent aspects consists of knowledge, awareness and skills with indicators of the Center for Ecoliteracy. The studies implemented in the outdoor learning. This research used a Class Action Research (PTK) with the design of Kemmis and Mc.Taggart which consists of four stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. The results of Class Action Research (PTK) showed an increase in ecological intelligence on aspects of knowledge, awareness and skills of students of SMP N 2 Kayen. The average value at the end of the research is aspects of knowledge 74.6, 81.3 of awareness aspect and the aspect of skill is 82,5 exceeds the indicators of success which is  70. Recommendations for Pati regency government can preserve Kendeng Mountains. Keywords: ecological intelligence, Kendeng mountains, outdoor education.
