Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi realita materi PPKn yang lebih berorientasi kepada civic knowledge kurang menyentuh aspek civic disposition dan kurang memuat isu-isu global. Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan mengemban misi untuk mengembangkan pengetahuan, nilai-nilai dan keterampilan untuk berpartisipasi dalam pengambilan keputusan tentang cara kita melakukan sesuatu baik lokal maupun global dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup generasi saat ini tanpa merusak planet ini untuk masa depan. Oleh karena itu, perlu pengintegrasian materi Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) yang diasumsikan dapat membantu siswa dalam mengembangkan rasa hormat dan menjunjung tinggi harkat martabat manusia (civic disposition). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan bahan ajar PPKn berbasis Education for Sustainable Development dalam pembelajaran PPKn terhadap peningkatan civic disposition siswa di SMPN 5 Bandung. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimen desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket, skala sikap, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dengan statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, homogenitas, uji perbedaan dua rata-rata, dan uji gain. Temuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pengembangan karakter privat antara kelas kontrol yang tidak menggunakan materi ESD dengan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan materi ESD; 2) Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan peningkatan karakter publik antara kelas kontrol yang tidak menggunakan materi ESD sebesar 0,170 dengan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan materi ESD sebesar 0,307; 3) Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pengembangan civic disposition antara kelas kontrol sebesar 0,637 dengan kelas eksperimen sebesar 2,635; 4) Terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara penerapan materi Education for Sustainable Development sebesar 48,6 % terhadap peningkatan watak kewarganegaraan (civic disposition) siswa, dan 5) Terdapat respon atau tanggapan siswa secara positif terhadap materi Education for Sustainable Development dalam pembelajaran PPKn. Hasil penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa perlu keberlanjutan pengembangan model bahan ajar PPKn berbasis Education for Sustainable Development di tingkat persekolahan dan perguruan tinggi. This research was conducted by the reality that civic education material which oriented more to civic knowledge and reached less about civic disposition aspect and contained less the global issues. Civic education carries out mission to develop knowledge, values, and skill to participate in taking the decision about the way we do good things whether locally or globally in developing the young generation’s life without damage this planet for the future. Therefore, it is important to integrate Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) material which are assumed it can help the student in developing respect and uphold the human’s dignity and prestige (civic disposition). This research aims to know the influence of the use of teaching civic material Based on Education for Sustainable Development in learning civic education toward development of students’ civic disposition in SMPN 5 Bandung. The approach of this research used quantitative and the method used quasi experimental design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The data collection was gathered through questionnaire, attitude scale, observation, and documentation study. The technique of data analysis used descriptive statistic, normality test, homogeneity test, t- test, and gain test. The subject of this research is the students of VII-G grades as an experimental class and VII-1 grade as a controlled class in SMPN 5 Bandung. The research finding shows that: 1) there is a significant difference in developing Civic Disposition between controlled class which did not use ESD material gains 0,637 with experimental class which used ESD material gains 2,635; 2) there is a significant difference in developing public character between controlled class which did not use ESD material gains 0,170 with experimental class which used ESD material gains 0,307; 3) there is a significant difference in developing Civic Disposition between controlled class which gains 0,637 with experimental class which gains 2,635; 4) there is a positive and significant influence between the application of Education for Sustainable Development material which gains 48,6 % toward students’ civic character (civic disposition), and 5) there is students’ positive response toward Education for Sustainable Development material in learning Civic Education. The result of the research is aimed to give the recommendation that it is a must of sustainable development model of teaching material of Civic Education based on Education for Sustainable Development in level of schools and university.
