Abstract
Target kunjungan wisatawan di Kota Cirebon pada tahun 2013 dan 2014 belum tercapai dengan maksimal sehingga Pemerintah Kota Cirebon terus berupaya untuk mengembangkan berbagai potensi wisata yang dimiliki agar menjadi daya tarik wisata di Kota Cirebon. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran tari Topeng dalam menunjang kepariwisataan di Kota Cirebon, menganalisis potensi serta mengidentifikasi upaya-upaya untuk mengangkat tari Topeng sebagai daya tarik wisata di Kota Cirebon. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara mendalam, penyebaran kuesioner, dan studi kepustakaan. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa tari Topeng Cirebon telah berperan dalam mendukung pariwisata di Kota Cirebon, dan tari Topeng memiliki potensi yang baik untuk menjadi daya tarik wisata di Kota Cirebon yang didukung dengan keunikan, kelangkaan, keindahan, seasonalitas, sensitivitas, aksesibilitas serta fungsi sosialnya. Upaya-upaya untuk mengangkat tari Topeng sebagai daya tarik wisata yaitu meningkatkan status tari Topeng agar sejajar dengan beberapa kesenian lain di Propinsi Jawa Barat, mengupayakan keseragaman gaya tari Topeng, meningkatkan upaya-upaya pelestarian dan pengembangannya, serta menjadikannya sebagai objek wisata minat khusus. Saran-saran yang diberikan bagi Pemerintah Kota Cirebon dan pihak terkait lainnya yaitu agar ditingkatkan keberadaan dan perkembangan tari Topeng di masyarakat, mempertahankan keaslian tari Topeng agar tetap khas, memberikan pembinaan yang baik terhadap sanggar-sanggar seni tari Topeng supaya dapat berkembang dengan baik sehingga dapat melahirkan penari-penari Topeng handal. Upaya yang perlu diprioritaskan untuk mendukung potensi tari Topeng menjadi daya tarik wisata yaitu upaya pelestariannya dan menjadikan tari Topeng Cirebon sebagai objek wisata minat khusus. ----------Target tourist arrivals in the city of Cirebon in 2013 and 2014 has not been achieved to the maximum so that the Cirebon City Government continues to strive to develop tourism potential to become a tourist attraction in the city of Cirebon. This study aims to determine the role of mask dance in supporting tourism in the city of Cirebon, analyzing the potential and identify efforts to lift the mask dance as a tourist attraction in the city of Cirebon. The method used is descriptive quantitative method. The research data were collected by observation, interviews, questionnaires, and literature study. The data analysis using descriptive analysis techniques. Results of the study explained that the Cirebon mask dance has been instrumental in supporting tourism in the city of Cirebon, and mask dance have good potential to become a tourist attraction in the city of Cirebon supported by the uniqueness, rarity, beauty, seasonality, sensitivity, accessibility and its social function. Efforts to lift the mask dance as a tourist attraction, namely improving the status of mask dance in order to align with some of the other arts in West Java, seeking uniformity of mask dance style, improve conservation efforts and development, as well as making it an attraction of special interest. Suggestions were given to the Government of Cirebon City and other related parties are so improved the existence and development of mask dance in the community, the authenticity of mask dance to remain distinctive, providing good coaching to art studios mask dance in order to develop properly so that it can mask dancers spawned reliable. Efforts need to be prioritized to support the potential of mask dance into a tourist attraction that is of conservation efforts and make the Cirebon mask dance as an object of special interest.
