Abstract
Penelitian ini bermula dari temuan-temuan di lapangan pada observasi awal mengenai maslah kemandirian siswa di kelas VIII C SMP percontohan UPI. Pertama, Siswa dikelas VIII C SMP Percontohan UPI kurang memiliki dorongan untuk memulai pembelajaran. Kedua, siswa kurang disiplin. Ketiga, pada saat berlangsung pembelajaran tidak terjadi feed back atau timbal balik ketika kegiatan pembelajaran. Keempat, siswa kurang mampu mengahargai pendapat temannya. Meninjau permasalahan yang akan diteliti berkaitan dengan proses pembelajaran, maka peneliti memilih Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart dalam 4 siklus. Pemecahan masalah yang dipilih yaitu dengan menggunakan teknik time token untuk menumbuhkan kemandirian siswa. Adapun penumbuhan kemandirian siswa dapat dilihat dari indikator Kemandirian siswa yaitu Menghargai pendapat, Siswa menjadi diri sendiri atau percaya diri dalam berhubungan dengan siswa lainya dan guru di kelas, Siswa mampu membuat keputusan sendiri, Siswa mampu mengetahui dengan pasti kapan harus meminta pertimbangan orang lain, Keyakinan diri siswa berasal dari dirinya sendiri, Siswa memiliki hasrat bersaing untuk maju demi kebaikan dirinya, Siswa berinisiatif untuk mengerjakan tugas-tugas dan Siswa bertanggung jawab terhadap apayang dilakukannya. Pada siklus pertama jumlah siswa yang berpendapat masih sedikit dikarenakan siswa masih kurang bisa menghargai pendapat siswa lainya. Pada siklus kedua, terjadi perbaikan jika dibanding siklus pertama dikarenakan siswa sudah mulai bisa menghargai pendapat siswa lainya. Pada siklus ketiga, terjadi lonjakan perbaikan sebesar 17, 1 %, hal ini dikarenakan jumlah siswa yang berpendapat meningkat. Pada siklus keempat, hasil dari siklus keempat ini tidak jauh berbeda dengan siklus ketiga, dikarenakan siswa sudah memilki kemandirian dalam berpendapat. Seluruh aspek ini mengalami perkembangan dari siklus pertama hingga siklus keempat dari kualitas kurang, cukup, menjadi baik dengan persentase 57,8 %, 62,3 %, 79,4 % dan 82, 3 % pada siklus keempat. Kesimpulannya, Penumbuhan kemandirian dapat ditingkatkan melalui penerapan teknik time token.----------This study stems from the findings of the field in the preliminary observations regarding the independence issue with students in class VIII C SMP percontohan UPI. First, students in class VIII C SMP Percontohan UPI less have the urge to start learning. Second, students lack discipline. Third, the learning does not occur during a feed back or reciprocal when learning activities. Fourth, students are less able mengahargai his opinion. Reviewing the problems to be studied with regard to the learning process, the researchers chose a Class Action Research (PTK) with a research design Kemmis and Mc. Taggart in 4 cycles. Troubleshooting is selected by using the technique of time token to foster students' independence. The growing independence of students can be seen from the indicators Independence students are Appreciating opinion, Students become self or confidence in dealing with other students and teachers in the classroom, students are able to make their own decisions, Students are able to know exactly when to ask for consideration of others, Confidence the students come from himself, Students have the desire to compete to move forward for the good of themselves, students take the initiative to work on assignments and students are responsible for that which does. In the first cycle of the number of students who think they are still lacking a little bit because students can appreciate the opinion of other students. In the second cycle, an improvement when compared to the first cycle because the students have started to value the opinions of other students. In the third cycle, a spike in improvement by 17, 1%, this is because the number of students who argue increasing. In the fourth cycle, the results of the fourth cycle is not much different from the third cycle, because students already have autonomy in the opinion. All aspects of this have evolved from the first cycle to the fourth cycle of less quality, reasonably, be good with a percentage of 57.8%, 62.3%, 79.4 and 82, 3% in the fourth cycle. In conclusion, Growth independence can be enhanced through the application of engineering time token.
