Abstract

Permasalahan muncul ketika remaja mengalami masa pubertas yang salah satunya ditandai dengan adanya perubahan fisik. Dari situ lah remaja mulai mengevaluasi dirinya dan memunculkan pikiran serta perasaan negatif terhadap keadaan tubuh mereka sehingga menghasilkan rasa ketidakpuasan terhadap tubuhnya (body dissatisfaction). Apabila body dissatisfaction terus meningkat pada diri remaja, tentunya akan berakibat kepada kehidapan remaja itu sendiri baik dalam bidang pribadi, sosial, belajar, hingga karirnya di masa yang akan datang. Oleh karenanya untuk mereduksi body dissatisfaction pada peserta didik yang notabene nya remaja, dilakukan penelitian eksperimen melalui teknik restrukturisasi kognitif terhadap peserta didik kelas XI SMA Pasundan 2 Bandung. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen kuasi dan menggunakan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian terbagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik homogenous sampling. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa instrumen skala psikologi untuk mengungkap body dissatisfaction peserta didik. Hasil uji two-independent-sample test Mann Whitney menunjukan adanya perbedaan antara rata-rata skor post-test kelompok eksperimen dengan post-test kelompok kontrol pada taraf nyata 5% sehingga H0 ditolak karena nilai sig. (0.000) < alpha (0.05). Selain itu skor pre-test dan post-test kelompok eksperimen juga menunjukan adanya penurunan dari yang semula Z score median 1,78 menjadi -0,20. Dengan demikian hipotesis diterima, yaitu teknik restrukturisasi kognitif efektif untuk mereduksi body dissatisfaction peserta didik kelas XI SMA Pasundan 2 Bandung. Dengan demikian, teknik restrukturisasi kognitif dapat digunakan oleh guru BK dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan body dissatisfaction sekaligus dapat mencegah terjadinya penyimpangan-penyimpangan perilaku pada peserta didik yang berawal dari permasalahan body dissatisfaction. ---------- Problems appear when adolescents are experiencing puberty, which is indicated with the emergence of physical changes on several parts of their body. During that time, adolescents start to evaluate themselves and initiate negative perceptions about their body. These negative perceptions may lead to body dissatisfaction. The improvement of body dissatisfaction level in adolescents may affects their personal, social, academic, and their professional life in the future. That is why, to reduce body dissatisfaction level among students who are perceived as adolescents, an experimental research is conducted through cognitive restructuring technique toward eleventh-grade students in SMA Pasundan 2 Bandung. The research is using quantitative approach with quasi experimental method and non-equivalent control group as research design.Samples are divided into two groups, which are experimental group and control group. Homogenous sampling is used as data sampling method, while psychological scale instrument is used as data collecting instrument to show the body dissatisfaction level among students. The Mann-Whitney two-independent sample test shows that there is a difference in average post-test scores between experimental group and control group in 5% significance level. It proves that H0 is rejected since the significance score (U=0.000) is less than alpha (α=0.05). Beside that, pre-test and post-test scores in experimental group is also decreasing, from median Z-score 1.78 into median Z-score -0.20. With these results, hypothesis is accepted that cognitive restructuring technique is effective to reduce body dissatisfaction level among eleventh-grade students in SMA Pasundan 2 Bandung. Practically, cognitive restructuring technique is applicable for counseling teachers not only to solve body dissatisfaction cases, but also to prevent deviant behaviors in consequence of body dissatisfaction among students.
