Abstract

Kebanyakan siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep stoikiometri bahkan masih sering mengalami miskonsepsi. Salah satu pendekatan perubahan konsepsi yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi terjadinya miskonsepsi adalah dengan bantuan Conceptual Change Text (CCT) sebagai sumber bacaan siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan konsepsi siswa melalui kegiatan membaca CCT pada materi Stoikiomeri. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 34 siswa kelas XI SMA yang telah mempelajari materi stoikiometri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengembangan dan validasi yang terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap konstruksi dan validasi, tahap pengujian lapangan, serta tahap pengolahan data. Tahap pengujian lapangan terdiri dari pretest, kegiatan membaca CCT, dan posttest. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar validitas CCT dan tes tertulis yang digunakan pada pretest dan posttest. Analisis data pada hasil validasi CCT menggunakan nilai rata-rata CVR (Content Validity Ratio) atau CVI (Content Validity Indeks). Analisis data hasil pretest dan posttest menggunakan perhitungan N-Gain dan pengkategorian jawaban siswa. Hasil validitas CCT pada aspek kesesuaian isi dengan indikator memperoleh nilai CVI = 1, aspek kesesuaian grafika, dengan CVI = 0,98, dan aspek kesesuaian karakteristik CCT, dengan CVI = 1. Berdasarkan hasil analisis jawaban siswa pada pretest dan posttest diperoleh rata-rata nilai N-Gain siswa sebesar 0,74 dengan kategori tinggi yang menunjukkan bahwa terjadi perubahan konsepsi siswa menjadi lebih baik setelah membaca CCT. Hasil analisis pada butir soal miskonsepsi, menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa sebesar 82,35 %, yang menunjukkan bahwa CCT dapat membantu mengurangi terjadinya miskonsepsi pada materi Stoikiometri.----------Most of students have difficulty in comprehending the concept of stoichiometry even they often face misconception. One of conceptual change approach that can be utilized to minimize students’ misconception is using Conceptual Change Text (CCT) as students’ reading text. This study aims at discovering the students’ conceptual change through CCT reading activity on stoichiometry. The study involves 34 eleventh graders studying stoichiometry as participants. The study uses development and validation method which consists of four stages namely; planning, construction and validation, field testing, and data analysis. The field testing stage includes pretest, CCT reading activity, and posttest. The instruments used in the study are CCT validity sheet and written tests which are used in pretest and posttest. The data analysis in CCT validation result uses mean of Content Validity Ratio (CVR) or Content Validity Index (CVI). The data analysis of pretest and posttest results uses N-Gain calculation and the students’ answers categorization. The result of CCT validity on the suitability between the content and indicators gains a score of CVI= 1, graphics suitability with CVI= 0,98, and CCT characteristics suitability aspect with CVI= 1. Based on the result of the students’ answers analysis in pretest and posttest, an N-Gain mean of 0,74 was obtained. It belongs to high category which indicates that the students’ conceptual change ameliorates after reading CCT. The result of analysis on misconception items shows an improvement on the students’ conceptual comprehension as much as 82,35%. Based on the aforementioned data, it then can be concluded that CCT can help minimizing misconception on stoichiometry.
