Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya partisipasi belajar siswa dalam kelompok yang terjadi pada pembelajaran IPS di kelas VIII-D SMP Negeri 45 Bandung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperbaiki rendahnya partisipasi belajar siswa dalam kelompok pada pembelajaran IPS. Rendahnya partisipasi siswa dalam kelompok ini merupakan suatu masalah dalam proses pembelajaran, karena pembelajaran secara berkelompok tidak akan berjalan secara baik apabila tidak ada partisipasi dari anggota kelompoknya. Penggunaan teknik permainan menjadi alternatif yang dipilih oleh peneliti dalam upaya memperbaiki rendahnya partisipasi belajar siswa dalam kelompok. Teknik permainan dipilih oleh peneliti karena melihat manfaat dari teknik permainan yang sangat erat kaitannya dalam melatih partisipasi belajar siswa dalam kelompok. Karena dengan teknik permainan siswa dituntut untuk berpartisipasi secara aktif agar mampu menyelesaikan permainan secara berkelompok dengan rasa senang dan tidak tertekan. Dalam pelaksanaannya, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan suatu metode Penelitian tindakan Kelas (PTK) dari Kemmis dan Taggart, yang setiap siklusnya terdiri dari tahapan-tahapan seperti perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi tindakan, dan refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga siklus dan setiap siklusnya terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Kegiatan penelitian terkait dengan “ Peningkatan Partisipasi Belajar Siswa dalam Kelompok pada Pembelajaran IPS dengan Menggunakan Teknik Permainan” yang telah dilakukan melalui tahapan-tahapan tersebut memperoleh hasil yang Baik. Hal tersebut terlihat dari data yang diperoleh pada setiap siklusnya, yakni pada siklus pertama, partisipasi belajar siswa dalam kelompok baru mencapai kategori “cukup”, kemudian pada siklus kedua mengalami peningkatan yang cukup tinggi, sehingga hasil yang diperoleh menjadi masuk kedalam kategori “baik”, dan pada siklus ketiga, partisipasi belajar siswa dalam kelompok meningkat kembali, akan tetapi peningkatan pada siklus ke tiga ini tidak setinggi yang terjadi pada siklus kedua , tetapi hasil yang diperoleh sudah mencapai kategori “sangat baik”. Dengan demikian dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa pengunaan teknik permainan dalam pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan partisipasi siswa dalam kelompok. ---------- This research is motivated by the low of students participation in the group happened in learning social science in VIII grade class D Junior High School 45 of Bandung. The purpose of this research is to increase the low students’ participation in group in learning social science. The low of students’ participation in group is a problem in the learning process, because learning in groups will not run properly if there is no participation of members of the group. The use of game became an alternative chosen by the researcher in an effort to improve the low participation of students in the group. The Technigues og game is chosen by the researcher because researcher sees the benefits of the method of game, which is very closely related to train students' participation in the group. Due to the techniques of game, the students are required to participate actively in order to be able to finish the game in groups with fun and were not depressed. In practice, this study was conducted by Classroom Action Research method from Kemmis and Taggart, that each cycle consist of the stages of planning, implementation of action, action observation, and reflection. This study was conducted in three cycles and each cycle consists of two meetings. Research activities, related to "Improving Student Learning Participation in the Group in Learning Social Science by using The Techniques of Game" that has been done through these stages, obtained Good result. It is seen from the data obtained in each cycle, the first cycle, the participation of students in the new group reached the category of "enough", then in the second cycle increased high enough, so that the result can be categorized into "good" category, and in the third cycle, the participation of students in the group increased again, however the increase in the cycle to three is not as high as occurred in the second cycle, but the result obtained have reached the category of "very good". Thus it can be concluded that the techniques of games in learning Social Science can increase student participation in the group.
