Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan filler MWCNT terhadap kinerja membran filtrasi Kitosan-PEG dalam proses pengolahan air. Secara khusus, tahapan penelitian ini terdiri dari pembuatan membran kitosan-PEG dengan penambahan MWCNT dalam berbagai variasi volum dan penentuan kondisi oprimum penambahan MWCNT yang dilihat dari nilai permeabilitas (fluks). Membran kitosan-PEG-MWCNT berhasil dibuat dengan metode solution mixing. Hasil uji permeabilitas menunjukkan semakin besar volum MWCNT yang ditambahkan semakin memperbesar pori-pori membran. Didapat nilai optimum uji permeabilitas membran kitosan-PEG-MWCNT yaitu pada rasio 8:4:3 dengan nilai fluks sebesar 3,159 L/ m2.jam. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan MWCNT mempengaruhi membran kitosan-PEG khususnya ukuran pori. Namun, studi lebih lanjut pada kinerja membran masih perlu dilakukan. ---------- This study aims to investigate the effect of MWCNT filler on the performance of Chitosan-PEG filtration membrane in water treatment process. In particular, this study was consisted of synhesis chitosan-PEG membrane with insertion of MWCNT and determination of optimum composition of MWCNT from permeability test. The membranes were successfully prepared using solution mixing method. Permeabillity test results showed that the larger volume of MWCNT added, enlarge the pores of the membrane. The optimum value of chitosan-PEG-MWCNT membrane is at ratio of 8:4:3 with a flux 3,159 L/ m2.h. It can be concluded that the MWCNT affect chitosan-PEG membran.
