Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan bisnis perhotelan khususnya di kota Bandung ternyata tidak diiringi dengan meningkatnya kualitas pelayanan dan kinerja karyawan yang bekerja di industri tersebut. Salah satunya di The Newton Hotel Bandung. Hal tersebut ditandai dengan indikator ketepatan waktu dalam menyelesaikan pekerjaan, tingkat inisiatif dalam bekerja, tingkat kerjasama, dan tingkat kehadiran karyawan dinilai masih kurang baik. Fenomena tersebut harus segera ditangani agar tidak mengganggu kinerja perusahaan. Perbaikan lingkungan kerja merupakan salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kinerja karyawan sehinggatujuan perusahaan tercapai. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui gambaran 1) Lingkungan kerja di The Newton Hotel Bandung, 2) Kinerja karyawan di The Newton Hotel Bandung, 3) Adanya pengaruh lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan The Newton Hotel Bandung. Objek dalam penelitian ini ialah karyawan The Newton Hotel Bandung. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini ialah lingkungan kerja, sedangkan variabel terikat dalam penelitian ini ialah kinerja karyawan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan ialah pendekatan deskriptif dan verifikatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode explanatory survey dengan populasi sebanyak 30 orang (sampel jenuh). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah regresi linear sederhana dengan alat bantu software komputer SPSS 22.0. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh lingkungan kerja yang cukup kuat terhadap kinerja karyawan bagian kitchen The Newton Hotel Bandung. Saran penulis yang dapat dilakukan oleh The Newton Hotel Bandung adalah dengan memperbaiki pencayahaan dan hubungan karyawan dengan atasan serta personal quality untuk meningkatkan kinerja karyawan. Kata kunci: Lingkungan kerja, dan Kinerja karyawan The background of this research is the phenomenon in which the rapid development of the hotel business especially in Bandung city was not accompanied by increased quality of service and the performance of employees working in the industry, for example in The Newton Hotel Bandung. It is characterized by the data pre studies showing that the employee's performance is seen from indicators of timeliness in completing the work, the level of initiative in work, the level of cooperation, and the level of attendance of employees still aren’t good enough. The phenomenon must be addressed so as not to interfere with the performance of the company. The working environment is one way to improve the performance of employees so that the company's performance will increases. The aim of this study is to describe 1) The work environment at The Newton Hotel Bandung, 2) Employee’s performance at The Newton Hotel Bandung, 3) The effect of the work environment on The Newton Hotel Bandung employees performance. The object of this research is the employee of The Newton Hotel Bandung with the number of respondents as many as 30 employees. The independent variable in this study is the work environment, while the dependent variable in this research is the employee's performance. This type of research is descriptive and verification approach. The method used in this research is explanatory survey method with a total population is 30 people. The data analysis technique used in this study is that a simple linear regression with computer software tools SPSS 22.0. The result of this study is that there is a fairly strong of the work environment on kithen area The Newton Hotel Bandung‘s employee performance. The writer’s suggestion for The Newton Hotel Bandung is to improve the supporting facilities and infrastructure so that the employees can improve their perormances.
