Abstract

Penelitian ini diawali dengan permasalahan, yaitu pembelajaran yang menggunakan metode dan teknik konvensional membuat siswa mudah merasa bosan dan tidak tertarik untuk belajar menulis cerpen. Bagaimana kemampuan menulis siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan dan apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara menulis teks cerpen di kelas yang diberi perlakuan dan kelas yang tidak diberi perlakuan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut peneliti menggunakan teknik papan cerita (storyboard) dalam pembelajaran menulis cerpen dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampaun menulis siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan menggunakan teknik papan cerita (storyboard) dan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis teks cerpen di kelas yang diberi perlakuan dan kelas yang tidak diberi perlakuan menggunakan teknik papan cerita (storyboard). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan jenis metode eksperimen kuasi/semu. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan menulis cerpen siswa sebelum dan sesuadah diberi perlakuan. Peningkatan sebesar 8,88% pada kelas eksperimen dan 6,6% pada kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji t hipotesis, diperoleh hasil ttabel ≤ thitung ≥ ttabel , yaitu 1,939 ≤ 2,34 ≥ 1,939. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis teks cerita pendek siswa di kelas eksperimen sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan teknik papan cerita (storyboard). Nilai rata-rata tes awal di kelas eksperimen dan kontrol sebesar 73,57 dan 69,24 dan nilai rata-rata tes akhir di kelas eksperimen sebesar 82,45. Sementara itu, nilai rata-rata tes akhir di kelas kontrol sebesar 75,84. Hal ini menunjukkan keefektifan penerapan teknik papan cerita dalam pembelajaran menulis teks cerita pendek siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 6 Bandung. ---------- This research begins with issues about learning methods and conventional techniques, that makes students easily bored and not interested in learning to write short stories. How writing skills of students before and after given a learning and is there any significant differences between writing short stories in class that are given and aren't given a learning. Based on these the researchers used a storyboard technique in learning to write short stories with the aim to describe the writing skills of students before and after given a learn to use storyboard technique and significant difference between the ability to write short stories in class that are given and aren't given a learn to use storyboard technique. This study uses quantitative methods with method type is quasi experimental. The results showed that there is an increase of student's skills to write short stories before and after given a learning. An increase of 8.88% in experiment class and 6.6% in control class. Based on the calculation hypothesis test, the result is ttabel ≤ tcount ≥ ttable, ie 2.34 ≤ 1.939 ≥ 1.939. This shows that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that there are significant differences between student's skills to write short stories in experiment class before and after using storyboard technique. The average value of the initial test in experimen class and control are 73.57 and 69.24 and the average value of the final test in the experiment class is 82.45. Meanwhile, the average value of the final test in control class is 75.84. This is shows effectiveness of the application a story board technique in learning writing short stories for class XI student of SMAN 6 Bandung.
