Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Bandung dalam menulis cerpen sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran ARIAS pada kelas eksperimen, kemampuan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 15 Bandung dalam menulis cerpen sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan model terlangsung pada kelas kontrol, dan apakah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis cerpen pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan. Model ARIAS adalah usaha pertama dalam kegiatan pembelajaran untuk menanamkan rasa yakin/percaya pada siswa. Kegiatan pembelajaran ada relevansinya dengan kehidupan siswa, serta berusaha menarik dan memelihara minat/perhatian siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen kuasi. Tujuan pemilihan metode eksperimen adalah untuk menguji hipotesis yang sudah ditetapkan. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, ternyata data menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen yaitu kelas yang mendapat perlakuan model ARIAS memiliki hasil menulis teks cerita pendek yang lebih baik dari pada kelas kontrol. Hasil rata-rata nilai prates untuk kelas eksperimen adalah 69 dan untuk kelas kontrol adalah 67 dengan kategori cukup. Artinya, kedua kedua kelas memiliki kemampuan yang hampir sama sebelum diberi perlakuan. Siswa yang telah diberikan perlakuan nilai rata-ratanya mengalami perubahan. Nilai rata-rata pascates untuk kelas eksperimen adalah 77 dengan kategori baik dan untuk kelas kontrol adalah 69 dengan kategori cukup. Artinya, terjadi perubahan nilai siswa setelah diberi perlakuan. Perubahan untuk kelas eksperimen terjadi lebih tinggi dan sudah berada di atas KKM sedangkan nilai pascates kelas kontrol masih di bawah KKM. Berdasarkan pengolahan data, pada uji signifikansi diperoleh nilai thitung 4,23 dan ttabel 2,00 sehingga diketahui thitung ≥ ttabel, yaitu 4,23 ≥ 2,00 pada taraf kepercayaan 95% dengan dk=68. Maka hipotesis Ha diterima, yaitu terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa dalam menulis cerpen di kelas eksperimen dan di kelas kontrol.----------This research is motivated by a question arises such as whether the ability of class VIII SMP Negeri 15 Bandung in writing a short story text before and after the learning model ARIAS treated in the experimental class, the ability of class VIII SMP Negeri 15 Bandung in writing a short story text before and after the treated models terlangsung the control class, and such as whether there is any significant differences in writing a short story ability between the student at both class, the experimental and the comparator class, before and after doing the treatment. Methods used in this research is experiment quasi. Election pueposes method of the experiment was to test the hypothesis that have been defined. The result of this research shows that the experimental class, which is treated by watching a cartoon movie before writing, has a better grade than the comparator class. The pre-test average grade for the experimental class is 67 while the comparator class get 69. It means that both of class have a grade under the standard (KKM). The standard grade of Bahasa Indonesia in SMP Negeri 15 Bandung is 75. It concludes that both of class have same performance before doing the treatment. Students in the experimental class get arise in average grades after being given the treatment. The average grade for the experimental class is 77 while the comparator class only 69. It means that there is a difference state after doing the treatment. The arising score for the experimental class is higher than the comparator class. The pasca-test average grade for the experimental class is higher than the standard grade while the comparator class still have grade under the standard. Based on the data processing, the significance test and obtained values of 4,23 t 2,00 to t 4,23 thitung ≥ ttabel 2,00 at 95% confidence level with df=68. It shows that Ha is accepted
