Abstract

Tantangan yang dihadapi oleh Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) saat ini adalah kompetensi sebagian besar guru PAUD khususnya guru TK masih belum memadai karena sebagian dari mereka tidak berasal dari latar belakang kePAUDan dan belum memiliki kualifikasi S1. Dari hasil pengamatan terhadap guru di Kecamatan Sukasari Kota Bandung, teridentifikasi bahwa di dalam pembelajaran masih ada guru yang belum membuat RKH setiap hari, belum mampu menguasai kelas, dan guru juga belum mampu mengembangkan media atau alat pembelajaran. Hal ini menggambarkan bahwa kompetensi pedagogik dan kompetensi profesional guru belum optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran dan kondisi tentang kompetensi pedagogik dan kompetensi profesional guru dalam pembelajaran di Taman Kanak-kanak (TK). Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui observasi dan studi dokumentasi dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif, pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah guru TK yang memiliki kualifikasi S1 di Kecamatan Sukasari Kota Bandung. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik twostage cluster sampling. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa pada umumnya kompetensi pedagogik (meliputi aspek: pemahaman anak didik, perancangan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi hasil belajar) dan kompetensi profesional (meliputi memahami materi, struktur, konsep, dan pola pikir keilmuan, menguasai tingkat pencapaian perkembangan, dan mengembangkan materi pembelajaran) guru TK di Kecamatan Sukasari Kota Bandung berada pada level sangat kompeten di dalam pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, rekomendasi dalam bentuk saran ditujukan kepada penyelenggara sekolah dan kepala sekolah TK agar memfasilitasi dan memberikan kesempatan kepada guru-guru TK, baik kepada guru dengan kualifikasi S1 maupun guru yang belum berkualifikasi S1 untuk dapat melaksanakan kegiatan pengembangan profesi melalui berbagai kegiatan pendidikan seperti: kesempatan melanjutkan pendidikan (kuliah) dan pelatihan tentang pembuatan media dalam pembelajaran, pengelolaan kelas yang baik, dan penyusunan alat evaluasi. Untuk guru TK yang menjadi sampel agar dapat menjadi leader yang memimpin, membimbing, dan membantu rekan-rekan guru sejawat dalam memecahkan masalah pembelajaran, dan untuk peneliti selanjutnya agar mengembangkan instrumen penelitian seperti tes atau angket, meneliti seluruh guru yang mengajar di kelas, dan melakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. The majority of the early childhood teachers in particular kindergarten teachers are still not competent because most of them have no educational background in early childhood education and have no degree. According to the field observation in Sukasari Regence, it was identified that in the teaching and learning process, there are teachers who could not prepare a daily lesson plan, they could not control the class, and there those who could not develop the media for learning and or the learning tools. This incident shows that the teachers’ professional and pedagogic competences are still low. This research aims to describe the condition about the teacher pedagogic and professional competences in the teaching of kindergarten. The research was conducted through observation and the study of documents, using a descriptive method and a quantitative approach. The population of the research was kindergarten teachers with a degree qualification in Sukasari Regence. The sample for the research was obtained using two-stage cluster sampling. The findings show that in general the pedagogic competences consist of aspects like: understanding the learners, planning, implementing, and evaluation of learning outcomes, and the professional competences consist of the aspects like: understanding the teaching material, structure, concepts and the scientific aspect or scholarly aspect of the field, understanding the learner’s development, and developing the learning material. In Sukasari Regence the teachers were found to be competent in the teaching and learning process. Based on the research findings; the recommendations are made to the heads of the kindergartens, and practitioners such that they are able to facilitate and given opportunity to the teachers to improve their skills. The opportunities may include: The opportunity to continue for further studies, and follow trainings. And to the teachers who became the sample of this research, to become leaders, counselors, and help others to solve existing problems in their teaching profession and for the coming researchers, to act as a basis of their research.
